Meetings of Otago Land Board.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has, in pursuance of section 48 of the Land Act, 1908, approved of meetings of the Otago Land Board being held at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, during the year 1921, at 10 o’clock a.m. on Wednesday, 12th and 26th January, 9th and 23rd February, 13th and 27th April, 11th and 25th May, 8th and 22nd June, 13th and 27th July, 10th and 24th August, 14th and 28th September, 12th and 26th October, 9th and 23rd November, and 7th and 21st December.

Alterations to the Scale of Fares, Rates, and Charges in Force upon the Tauranga to Opotiki Section, East Coast Main Trunk Railway.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 11 of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, the Minister of Public Works, do hereby order and declare that the regulations, scale of fares, rates, and charges for passengers and goods, and the conditions on which passengers and goods will be carried on the Tauranga to Opotiki Section of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway prior to its being opened for traffic under the Government Railways Act, 1908, made on the 8th day of August, 1917, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of 16th August, 1917, are hereby further altered by including therein the alterations made in the scale of fares, rates, and charges in force upon the New Zealand Government Railways as published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 7th day of February, 1918, the 4th day of December, 1919, and the 20th day of May, 1920, so far as they affect the parts of the Handbook referred to in Part I of the Schedule to the above-recited notice of the 8th day of August, 1917; and clause (5) of the said Part I shall accordingly be read as if the words “and the 7th day of February, 1918, the 4th day of December, 1919, and the 20th day of May, 1920,” were inserted after the words “and the 24th August, 1920,” inserted by warrant under the hand of the Minister of Public Works dated the 20th day of September, 1920, and published in Gazette No. 83, of the 30th day of September, 1920. And I do further order and declare that such alterations shall come into force on the 3rd day of January, 1921.

EASTERN TIDE-DEFLECTOR.—AUCKLAND HARBOUR.

THE attention of mariners is drawn to the following information which has been received from the Auckland Harbour Board:—
The construction of the eastern tide-deflector is now well under way, and has reached a point approximately 250 ft. to the northward of Campbell’s Point.
As the work progresses a fixed white light is being shown on the northernmost point between the hours of sunset and sunrise.
The foregoing notice affects the following publications: Admiralty Chart No. 1970; “New Zealand Pilot,” ninth edition, page 190; “New Zealand Nautical Almanac,” 1921, page 270.
