Notice as to Change of Purpose of a Reserve.

JELLICOE, Governor-General.

WHEREAS, by notice issued pursuant to section six of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, dated the twenty-first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, and published in the Gazette of the twenty-third day of that month, the purpose for which the reserve described in the Schedule hereto was set apart was changed from a site for a telegraph-station and post-office to a site for a memorial hall:

And whereas the said notice was laid before Parliament pursuant to the provisions of section seven of the said Act, and no resolution has been passed by either House of Parliament that such House does not assent to such change of purpose:

And whereas it is provided by the said section seven that, if no such resolution is passed by either House, then, from and after the termination of the then session of Parliament, such change of purpose, in accordance with the terms of the notice, shall be valid and effectual for all purposes whatsoever:

Now, therefore, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify that no such resolution as aforesaid has been passed by either House of Parliament, and that the change of purpose as set forth in the notice aforesaid has taken effect accordingly as from the eleventh day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty (being the date of the termination of the session during which the notice aforesaid was laid before Parliament).

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 22·4 perches, more or less, being part of Section 144, Township of Waverley. Bounded towards the west by Section 143 of the said township, 152 links; towards the north and east by the other part of Section 144, 92 links and 152 links; and towards the south by the Weraroa Road, 92 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/2595, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 14th day of December, 1920.

And whereas the said notice was laid before Parliament pursuant to the provisions of section seven of the said Act, and no resolution has been passed by either House of Parliament that such House does not assent to such change of purpose:

And whereas it is provided by the said section seven that, if no such resolution is passed by either House, then, from and after the termination of the then session of Parliament, such change of purpose, in accordance with the terms of the notice, shall be valid and effectual for all purposes whatsoever:

Trustees for the Taupo Public Cemetery appointed.

JELLICOE, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the fourth section of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the several persons whose names are specified in Part I of the Schedule hereto to have the control and management of the public cemetery specified in Part II of the said Schedule.

Revocation of Naturalization of H. N. C. Joosten annulled.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 20th day of December, 1920.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS letters of naturalization were issued to Henry Nicolai Christian Joosten on the twenty-eighth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three:

And whereas by Order in Council under the Revocation of Naturalization Act, 1917, dated the twenty-seventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, and gazetted on the sixth day of June in that year, the naturalization of the said Henry Nicolai Christian Joosten was, with that of other persons, revoked:

And whereas it is deemed expedient to annul such Order in Council in so far as it relates to the said Henry Nicolai Christian Joosten:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Revocation of Naturalization Act, 1917, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that the said Order in Council of the twenty-seventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, is hereby annulled in so far as it relates to the revocation of the naturalization of Henry Nicolai Christian Joosten.
