KAITIEKE COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE AT AN ORDINARY MEETING HELD ON THE 6TH DAY OF DECEMBER, 1919.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Kaitieke County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of ten thousand pounds (£10,000), authorized to be raised by the Kaitieke County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of widening, culverting, and metalling portions of the main service, the Hikimitu–Owhango, the Makokomiko, the Tunanui, the Kawautahi, the Waitea, the Waitea Branch, and the Otapouri Roads, and of forming and culverting portion of the Piriaka Road, the said Kaitieke County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twopence three-farthings (2¾d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (being the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Hunua–Owhango Special Rating Area, comprising, inter alia, the townships of Piriaka, Kakahi, and Owhango, and being the rateable properties within the following boundaries,—

Commencing at the north-western corner of Section 33, Block II, Hunua S.D., and running in a north-eastern direction along the north-western boundaries of said Section 33 and Section 34, said Block II, to the North Island Main Trunk Railway; thence by such railway in a southerly direction to the railway-crossing giving access to said Section 34; thence by a straight line running east to the Wanganui River; thence by such river in the direction of its source to the western mouth of the Whakapapa River; thence by the Whakapapa River in the direction of its source to the south-eastern corner of Section 21, Block IV, Kaitieke S.D.; thence by the southern boundaries of said Section 21 and Section 22, said Block IV, to the said North Island Main Trunk Railway; thence in a northerly direction along such railway to a point opposite the south-eastern corner of part Section 23, said Block IV, containing 33 acres, and occupied by one John Prouse; thence by a straight line to such south-eastern corner of said part Section 23; thence generally in a westerly direction along the southern boundaries of said part Section 23 and Sections 24 and 25, said Block IV, to the southern corner of such Section 25; thence along the western boundaries of part Section 25 and Section 26, said Block IV, to the Kawautahi Road; thence by a straight line in a north-easterly direction to the south-western corner of unnumbered Crown Lands Section, Block X, Hunua S.D.; thence along the western boundaries of such unnumbered section, Section 14, said Block X, and Section 26, Block IX, Hunua S.D., to Section 3, said Block IX; thence generally by the southern, western, and northern boundaries respectively of such Section 3 to the south-western corner of Section 8, said Block IX; thence along the western, northern, and eastern boundaries respectively of such Section 8, and crossing the Hikimitu–Owhango Road, to the south-eastern corner of Section 10, said Block IX; thence along the eastern and northern boundaries of such Section 10 and the eastern boundary of Section 11, said Block IX, to the south-eastern corner of Section 6, Block V, Hunua S.D.; thence along the southern boundaries of Sections 6, 5, 4, and 3, said Block V; thence along the eastern, southern, and western boundaries respectively of Section 1, said Block V, to the Makokomiko Road; thence across such road to the south-western corner of Section 20, said Block V; thence along the western and northern boundaries of such Section 20 to the south-western corner of Section 6B, Waimarino Native Reserve; thence along the western boundary of such Section 6B to the northern boundary of said Block V, Hunua S.D.; thence in an easterly direction along the northern boundary of such Block V to the south-western corner of said Section 33, Block II, Hunua S.D.; and thence along the western boundary of such Section 33 to the north-western corner of such section, being the commencing-point.

And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
