The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 74, of 26th June, 1919, relating to Lieutenant (late Captain, N.Z.E.F.) William Stanley Seed, N.Z. Dental Corps, is cancelled, and the following substituted :-

Captain William Stanley Seed is struck off the strength of the N.Z.E.F. and absorbed into the N.Z. Dental Corps with the rank of Lieutenant. Dated 28th January, 1920.

Captain Stanley Eric Vernon Brown, M.B., is granted the temporary rank of Major whilst acting as Orthopædic Surgeon in a Military Hospital. Dated 29th December, 1919.

Captain Maxwell Ramsay, M.B., is granted the temporary rank of Major whilst in charge of Narrow Neck Convalescent Camp. Dated 14th December, 1919.

ERRATUM.

The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 96, of 12th August, 1915, relating to 2nd Lieutenant John Campbell Collins, Unattached List (b), is cancelled.

Approval of Fees for Licensing of Vehicles fixed by By-law.- Waimarino County Council.

IT is hereby notified, in accordance with section 107 of the Counties Act, 1908, that so much of the by-law made by the Waimarino County Council, and sealed on the 13th day of December, 1919, as appoints the several sums to be paid to the Waimarino County funds for the licensing of vehicles plying for hire has this day been approved by His Excellency the Governor-General.

Plants declared to be Noxious Weeds by the Manukau County Council.--Notice No. 1988.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the Manukau County Council has, by special order, declared Bathurst burr (Xanthium spinosum), broom (Cytisus scoparius), gorse (Ulex europaeus), kangaroo acacia (Acacia armata), and winged thistle (Carduus pycnocephalus) to be noxious weeds within the meaning of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, in the district under its jurisdiction.

Fixing Date for the First Election of Two Members of the Wairoa Harbour Board.

H IS Excellency the Governor-General in Council has been pleased, in exercise of the power conferred upon him by section 5 of the Wairoa Harbour Board Empowering and Loan Act, 1919, to appoint Wednesday, the 21st day of January, 1920, to be the date for the first election of two members of the Wairoa Harbour Board to represent the Waikokopu District, as defined in the Third Schedule to the Waikokopu Harbour Act, 1903.

Uncustomed Goods.

Customs Department,

Wellington, 7th January, 1920.

IT is hereby notified, for public information, that on the 24th October, 1919, the officers of the Police Department found hidden at Thorndon Esplanade, Wellington, 194 tins containing "Three Castles" cigarettes. These goods have been seized as forfeited by the Collector of Customs at Wellington, on the ground that they are uncustomed goods found concealed on the said Esplanade.

If any person desires to dispute the seizure or to claim possession of the goods he should lodge with the Collector of Customs at Wellington, on or before 15th February, 1920, a notice to dispute the forfeiture of the goods in the form prescribed under the Customs Acts.

Copies of the form may be obtained on application to any Collector of Customs.
