Declaring Road-lines through Land in Apata Settlement,
Auckland Land District, to be closed.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
WHEREAS a report has been received from the Surveyor-
General, from which it appears that the roads described
in the Schedule hereto are unformed and unused, and that the
said roads intersect land acquired under the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and are not suitable to the subdivision of
such land:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of
New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of section eighty
of the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities
in anyway enabling me in this behalf, do by this notice
hereby close the roads hereinafter described; and I do
hereby declare that the said roads shall thereupon become
subject to the said Act.

deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and
Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this sixteenth day of December, one thousand
nine hundred and nineteen.

Notifying Lands in Southland Land District for Sale by Public
Auction.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section
of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of
New Zealand, do hereby appoint Thursday, the twenty-
sixth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and
twenty, as the time at which the lands described in the
Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do
hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold
as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.
Southland County.- Hokonui Survey District (Croydon
Village).
SECTION 753, Block LXX : Area, 9 acres 2 roods ; upset
price, £20. Weighted with £25, valuation for old three-
roomed cottage.
Section 764, Block LXX : Area, 9 acres 3 roods 34 perches;
upset price, £10.
Section 750, Block LXVIII : Area, 50 acres 0 roods
19 perches; upset price, £100. Weighted with £5,
valuation for two huts.
Croydon Village is situated about four miles from Gore-
three miles level metalled road, balance hilly. Open to
scrubby bush, with a few black-pine trees on Section 750.
Undulating to steep; poor soil; small holdings.
Southland County.-Wyndham Survey District.-
First-class Land.
Section 61, Block I : Area, 7 acres 3 roods 16 perches ;
upset price, £100.
Situated two miles and a half north-east of Wyndham.
Undulating land of good quality, intersected by two gullies,
but lying well to the sun. Originally bush, now cleared and
grassed excepting 1 acre. Suitable for dairying.
Wallace County.-Block III, Alton Survey District.-
First-class Land.

These sections are situated on the west side of the Waiau
River, about one mile from Tuatapere Railway-station, and
are suitable for suburban homes. The land is practically
level, and for the most part covered with birch bush, the soil
being of good quality.

thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Special Regulations for Deer-shooting, Wellington.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals
Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito
Savile, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations pre-
scribing the conditions under which certain red-deer may
be destroyed in the Wellington Acclimatization District.
REGULATIONS.
- NOTWITHSTANDING anything contained in the regula-
tions made under the Animals Protection Act, 1908, the
secretary of the Wellington Acclimatization Society of
Wellington, or any person or persons duly authorized in
writing by such secretary, may, during the period here-
inafter mentioned, kill red-deer of either sex and of any
age which in the opinion of the said secretary or of the
said authorized persons should be destroyed either by
reason of age, deformity, or any other reason.
