Land taken for the Purposes of improving Customs Street West in the City of Auckland.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, for a certain public work—to wit, for the purposes of improving Customs Street West in the City of Auckland:
And whereas an agreement has been entered into between the Auckland City Council and the owners of the land described in the Schedule hereto, to take such land for the public work hereinafter set forth:
And whereas the Auckland City Council has laid before the Governor-General a memorial, accompanied by a map in duplicate, as required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Auckland Harbour Board Empowering Act, 1912, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, and being satisfied of the sufficiency of the agreement hereinbefore referred to, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of improving the said street, and shall vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Auckland on and after the date hereinafter mentioned; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twenty-sixth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section eleven of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consents of the owners and mortgagee of the land described in the First Schedule hereto, and of the Taranaki County Council, being the local authority in whose district the said land is situated, proclaim as a road the land in Huiroa Survey District described in the First Schedule hereto; and also do hereby, with the like consents as aforesaid, proclaim as closed the road described in the Second Schedule hereto.
