They have been copied, however, as they stand in the Register; and if they are inaccurate in any case it is because the changes of residence have not been officially notified to the Registrar-General, as it is obviously desirable that all such changes should be.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries of the County of Levels.

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 20th December, 1919.

Pursuant to section 14 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913, it is hereby notified that a petition, in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fourth of the electors of the area described in the Schedule hereto, being part of the County of Levels, has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, praying that the said area may be excluded from the said county and included in the Borough of Timaru. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE COUNTY OF LEVELS.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the south-western boundary of Allotment 2 of Rural Section 2139 with the northern side of the Coonor (or Mount Horrible) Road; thence proceeding south-easterly along the boundary of the Timaru Borough, as defined in the New Zealand Gazette, 1910, page 1628, to the middle of the main South Road; thence south-westerly along the middle of that road to the left bank of the Otipua Creek, and along said bank to the northern side of the Coonor Road; thence south-easterly along that side of the said road to the point of commencement.

Permit to import Opium.

It is hereby notified, for public information, that a permit to import opium in forms which though not suitable for smoking may be made suitable has been granted to the undermentioned person, subject to the provisions of the Opium Act, 1908, the Opium Amendment Act, 1910, and the regulations made thereunder :—
