And notice is hereby further given that plans of the said land so required are deposited in the Council Chambers at Whakatane, and are open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands, who have any well-grounded objections thereto, must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the Whakatane County Council Chambers, Whakatane.

TAIHAPE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
EXTRACT FROM THE MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS AT A MEETING HELD ON THE 19TH JUNE, 1919.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Taihape Borough Council Improvement Loan of £17,000, 1919, authorized to be raised by the Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of the following works:—
(1.) For additions to the electric-light power-works plant of the borough, including the acquiring and erection of a new 75 K.W. generator: £1,000
(2.) Storm-water drainage—Main Street, from Huia Street to a point between Kuku Street and Weka Street; Huia Street, from Kokako Street to the triangle; Tui Street, from Robin Street (Station Street) to outlet below the School Reserve; Kuku Street, from Robin Street to Main Street, and from a point opposite Section 13, Block VIII, to Kokako Street; Robin Street, from a point two chains north of Kuku street to connect with drain in Tui Street: £2,200
(3.) Kerbing and channelling—Main Street, both sides, from Weka Street to a point opposite the southern boundary of Section 3, Block I; Tui Street, both sides, from Main Street to Robin Street:
Kerbing, channelling, forming, and asphalting footpaths—Huia Street, on southern side from railway turnstile to a point 4½ chains to the east of its junction with Kokako Street, and on the northern side from the south-western corner of Section 7, Block XXI, to the northern corner of Section 20, Block II; Tui Street, both sides, from Main Street to the swimming-baths; Kuku Street, on both sides, from Robin Street to Kokako Street; Weka Street, on the south side 5½ chains from Main Street, and on the northern side from Main Street to Kokako Street; Kokako Street, western side, from Weka Street to Huia Street; Robin Street, western side 9½ chains, and on the eastern side from Tui Street to Kuku Street, and from Weka Street in a southerly direction 6 chains: £2,012
(4.) Concrete slabs for footpaths—Main Street, both sides, from Weka Street to a point opposite the southern boundary of Section 3, Block I; Tui Street, from Main Street to Railway-station: £1,727
(5.) Regrading, asphalting, and improving roadway—Main Street, from Weka Street to a point opposite the southern boundary of Section 3, Block I; Tui Street, from Main Street to Railway-station: £4,258
(6.) Sundry street improvements—diverting streams, installing concrete culverts for same, replacing hospital steps by footpath, &c.: £2,000
(7.) Purchase of plant—steam road-roller, crushing plant, tar macadam and concrete mixers, &c.: £2,500
the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one and twenty-five thirty-seconds of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Taihape. And that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Taihape was hereto affixed at the office of and pursuant to a resolution of the Taihape Borough Council, in the presence of—

WAITEMATA COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—10 PER CENT. ON £9,200.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the Waitemata County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £920 (nine hundred and twenty pounds), being a supplementary ten-per-cent. loan of the original loan of £9,200, authorized to be raised by the Waitemata County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, and more particularly section 18 thereof, for the completion of the construction and improvement generally of the roads in Kumeu Riding of the County of Waitemata, the said Waitemata County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixteenth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Kumeu Riding of the County of Waitemata; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of January and the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a correct copy of a minute of the Waitemata County Council passed at a meeting of the said Council held on the 18th day of July, 1919.
