HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prohibit, for the period of one year from the date of this Order in Council, all alienation of the Native lands specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienation in favour of the Crown.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the twenty-second day of November, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-fifth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, regulations were made under the authority of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), for the prepayment in cash of the postage on inland postal packets: And whereas it is desirable to add to such regulations in the manner hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in that behalf enabling him, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the regulation set forth in the Schedule hereto; and doth order that the regulation hereby made shall have effect from the date of the publication of this Order in Council in the New Zealand Gazette, and shall form part of and be read together with the regulations above recited.

WHEREAS by Orders in Council dated the twenty-sixth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and seven, the twenty-third day of November, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, and the twelfth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the thirty-first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and seven, the twenty-sixth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, and the fifteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, respectively, regulations were made under the authority of the Post Office Act, 1900, and the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, respectively, for the conveyance of parcels by means of the Post Office: And whereas it is desirable to amend such regulations in the manner hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities in that behalf enabling him, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the regulations set forth in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby revoke so much of the regulations in the Schedules to the above-recited Orders in Council as is inconsistent herewith; and doth further order that the said revocation shall take effect, and the regulations hereby made shall come into force, on the date of the publication of this Order in Council in the New Zealand Gazette, and that the regulations hereby made shall form part of and be read together with the above-recited regulations.
SCHEDULE.
HIS MAJESTY’S LIABILITY.
In the event of any damage occurring during transit, His Majesty may, with his own consent, be liable to pay compensation to the owner, but not exceeding in any case a greater sum than £2 sterling in respect of any uninsured parcel, provided the special “fragile” fee of 6d., where necessary, has been paid thereon. No compensation, however, will be paid in respect of the loss of any unregistered or uninsured parcel.
In the event of any inquiry respecting the loss of a parcel, the sender must produce his receipt.
INSURANCE OF PARCELS.
In respect of a parcel insured for more than £2, addressed to a place within New Zealand, or of any insured parcel addressed to a place beyond New Zealand, the sender, at the time of posting, must obtain a certificate, which must be produced by him when any claim for compensation arises. No charge will be made for the certificate. The receipt provided for ordinary parcels must be obtained by the sender on posting an inland parcel insured for any sum not exceeding £2.
Parcels containing any of the following articles are accepted for insurance against loss, but the Postmaster-General will not recognize any claim arising out of the damage of such articles—viz., liquids or semi-liquids; perishable articles such as eggs, butter, fruit, flowers, confectionery, &c.; fragile articles such as glassware, &c.

WHEREAS by section nine of the Mining Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time by Order in Council appoint fit persons to be Wardens, who shall hold office during the Governor-General’s pleasure: Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by the said section nine of the Mining Act, 1908, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint
THOMAS EDWARD MAUNSÉLL
to be a Warden, to hold and exercise the duties of such office under and subject to the provisions of the said Act during pleasure, on and from the fifteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.
