The following are the regulations referred to:—
CANTERBURY JOCKEY CLUB.
REGULATIONS.
(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Canterbury Jockey Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”), doth hereby revoke the regulations dated the 4th day of July, 1911, and in lieu thereof doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the Christchurch Racecourse situated in the district of Christchurch, and known as the Riccarton Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

These regulations shall come into force on the date of the same being published in the New Zealand Gazette.

In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms respectively by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the racecourse above described while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely,—
(a.) Bookmakers.
(b.) Bookmakers’ clerks, bookmakers’ assistants, and bookmakers’ agents.
(c.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing or trotting club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Conference, or the New Zealand Trotting Association, or the New Zealand Trotting Conference.
(d.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually consort with thieves or with persons who have no lawful visible means of support.
(e.) Professional tipsters, persons convicted of housebreaking or pocket-picking, forgery, uttering or possessing counterfeit coin, theft, false pretences, receiving stolen goods, mischief, assault, or any offence or crime of any kind under the Crimes Act, 1908; and also idle and disorderly persons, rogues and vagabonds, and incorrigible rogues convicted under the Police Offences Act, 1908, and persons convicted of an offence under the Gaming Act, 1908.
The foregoing regulations of the Canterbury Jockey Club were made and passed by the Canterbury Jockey Club on the 28th day of January, 1919, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary.

NEW BRIGHTON GOLF CLUB.
AT a meeting of the members of the above club held on the 7th day of May, 1919, the following resolution was passed: “That the club disbands.”
The above resolution was confirmed at a meeting of members held on the 30th of June, 1919.
At the latter meeting E. J. TAYLER, of 108 Gloucester Street, Christchurch, was appointed Liquidator of the said club.

I, OSWALD FYFFE LAMB, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, now residing in Christchurch, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 5th August next to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Registrar of Births and Deaths at Christchurch.

WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE re NEWCASTLE RIDING LOAN, £16,000.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Waipa County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £16,000, authorized to be raised by the Waipa County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of metalling roads in the Newcastle Riding of Waipa County for the first time, the said Waipa County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five-eighths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Newcastle Riding of Waipa County; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Waipa County Council held at Ohaupo on the 8th day of July, 1919.

WHANGAMARINO ROAD BOARD.
EXTRACT FROM MINUTE-BOOK OF THE ABOVE BOARD, DATED 12TH DAY OF APRIL, 1919.—COPY OF RESOLUTION STRIKING A SPECIAL INTEREST RATE OVER THE MARAMARUA SPECIAL RATING AREA.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Whangamarino Road Board hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £4,000, authorized to be raised by the Whangamarino Road Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of metalling roads in the Maramarua Special Rating Area of the above road district, the Whangamarino Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 11/16ths of a penny in the pound upon the capital value of all rateable property within the Maramarua Special Rating Area of the Whangamarino Road District; such special rate to be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above is a correct copy taken from the minute-book of the Whangamarino Road Board.

Single copies of the Gazette, 6d. each.
Advertisements are charged at the rate of 6d. per line for the first insertion, and 3d. per line for the second and any subsequent insertion.
Statements under the Mining Act are uniformly charged 23s.
All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible hand.
The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.
The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening of each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before 3 o’clock of the day preceding publication.
AWARDS, RECOMMENDATIONS, AND DECISIONS UNDER THE INDUSTRIAL CONCILIATION AND ARBITRATION ACT.—The issue of this publication in monthly parts has been discontinued; but it has been arranged to supply copies in sheet form when each sheet is printed, at 10s. per annum. The price of bound volumes is 5s. in quarter cloth, and 7s. 6d. in cloth.
