ENGLAND.
SOUTH COAST.—SPITHEAD EASTERN APPROACH.—PRINCESSA SHOAL.—ALTERATIONS IN BUOYAGE.—AMENDED DEPTH OVER WRECK.

East Princessa buoy re-established:
Position.—At a distance of about 1½ cables north-eastward from the eastern edge of the Princessa Shoal. Lat. 50° 40′ 24″ N., long. 1° 1′ 21″ W.
Description.—A can buoy painted in black and white chequers, with staff and cage.

  1. West Princessa buoy replaced by light-buoy:
    Position.—At a distance of about 3 cables south-westward from the unlighted black conical buoy which has been withdrawn, and half a cable westward from the wreck shown on the charts at the western edge of Princessa Shoal. Lat. 50° 40′ 7″ N., long. 1° 3′ 21″ W.
    Description.—A light-buoy painted black, exhibiting an occulting green light every ten seconds.
    Remarks.—The wreck referred to above is now visible at low water, and the wreck symbol is to be substituted for the depth of half a fathom hitherto shown on the charts.

BEMBRIDGE POINT.—WRECK-MARKING BUOY SOUTH-EASTWARD OF, REPLACED BY LIGHT-BUOY.

Position.—At a distance of about half a cable southward from the wreck (1917) situated about 4½ miles south-eastward from Bembridge Point. Lat. 50° 38′ N., long. 0° 58¼′ W.
Details.—The wreck-marking buoy has been replaced by a green conical light-buoy exhibiting an occulting green light every ten seconds.

SOUTH-EAST COAST.—NORTH GOODWIN LIGHT-VESSEL.—AMENDED POSITION OF AND DEPTH OVER WRECK NORTHWARD OF.

Position.—At a distance of about 1½ cables westward from former charted position. Lat. 51° 21′ 57″ N., long. 1° 34′ 22″ E., on Chart No. 1828.
Details.—There is now a depth of 18 ft. over this wreck sunk in the year 1915, instead of 3 ft. as hitherto shown on the charts.
Remarks.—The buoy formerly marking this wreck has disappeared, and is to be expunged from the charts.

NORTH GOODWIN LIGHT-VESSEL.—NON-EXISTENCE OF WRECK NORTH-EASTWARD OF.

Position on Charts.—At a distance of about 1½ miles north-eastward of the North Goodwin light-vessel. Lat. 51° 21′ N., long. 1° 36′ E.
Description.—Wreck of s.s. “Gaupen.”
Remarks.—The wreck is to be expunged from the charts.

DEAL.—NON-EXISTENCE OF WRECK OFF.

Position on Charts.—At a distance of about one cable eastward of the storm-signal station. Lat. 51° 13¾′ N., long. 1° 24½′ E.
Remarks.—The wreck is to be expunged from the charts.

CHINA.
EAST COAST.—YANG-TSE-KIANG.—WUSUNG BAR.—LIGHT-BUOY ESTABLISHED IN PLACE OF LIGHT-BOAT.

Position.—On the southern side of the outer entrance to the channel over the bar, and in the position formerly occupied by the light-boat, with two fixed red and white lights, which have been withdrawn. Lat. 31° 23½′ N., long. 121° 31½′ E.
Description.—A light-buoy painted black, with spherical topmark, exhibiting an occulting white light every eight seconds, thus—light 4 secs., eclipse 4 secs.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

NOTICE is hereby given that the lease of the undermentioned land having been declared forfeited by resolution of the Otago Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.

Section 57, Block IV, Greenvale, Heriot Village Settlement. Tenure: Renewable lease. Formerly held by Hugh Curry, jun. Reason for forfeiture: Non-compliance with conditions.

Lands in the Taranaki Land District for Sale or Lease to Discharged Soldiers.

District Lands and Survey Office,
New Plymouth, 7th July, 1919.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands are open for sale or lease under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and the regulations thereunder; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, the 25th August, 1919.

The lands may be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or selected on lease for thirty-three years, with right of renewal for further successive terms of thirty-three years and a right to acquire the freehold.

Applicants must appear personally before the Land Board for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, the 27th August, 1919, at 10 o’clock a.m.

The ballot will be held at the conclusion of the examination of applicants.

IMPROVEMENTS.

The improvements included in the capital value of the sections are as follows: Section 1s, fencing valued at £102; Section 2s, fencing valued at £78; Section 3s, fencing valued at £130; Section 4s, fencing valued at £147; Section 5s, fencing valued at £229; Section 6s, fencing valued at £47; Section 7s, fencing valued at £144.

The fencing on the Kota Road in front of Section 3s belongs to the selector of Section 3s for removal.

The following improvements are not included in the capital value of the sections, and must be paid for separately, as follows:—

Section 1s.—House of six rooms, with bathroom; also rough sheds; valued at £250. Payable in cash, or in fourteen years by half-yearly instalments of £12 12s. 6d. Total half-yearly payment on lease, £68 4s.
