Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries of the Mangaorongo Road District, County of West Taupo.

Wellington, 28th June, 1919.
PURSUANT to subsection five of section seven of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1916, it is hereby notified that a petition, in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than two-thirds of the ratepayers of the area described in the Schedule hereto, being part of the Mangaorongo Road District, has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, praying that the said area may be excluded from the said road district. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE MANGAORONGO ROAD DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, commencing at the northernmost corner of Section 6, Block XII, Mangaorongo Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 6, 7, and 9, Block XII aforesaid, across a public road, and by the north-eastern boundaries of Section 2, Block XVI, across a public road, and by the north-eastern boundaries of Section 6; thence towards the south by the southern boundaries of Sections 6, 5, 4, and 3, Block XVI, Mangaorongo Survey District; thence towards the south-west by the western boundary of Section 3, across a public road, and by the south-western, north-western, and again by the south-western and northern boundaries of Section 13, Block XI, to a public road; thence across that road and by the western boundaries of Sections 7 and 6, Block XII, Mangaorongo Survey District, to the place of commencement.

Warrant of Appointment of Customs Examining-places.

I, ARTHUR MIELZINER MYERS, Minister of Customs, in exercise of the powers vested in me for this purpose by the Customs Act, 1913, do by this warrant appoint the undermentioned sheds to be places for the examination by the Customs of goods subject to the control of the Customs, viz.—
Port of Wellington.
The brick building, roofed with iron, situated on the breastwork between the Customhouse and “J” Shed, known as “U” Shed.
The wooden building, roofed with “ruberoïd,” known as No. 1, situated on that portion of the Breastwork Wharf known as Lambton Wharf Berth No. 1.

Warrant of Appointment of Wharf under the Customs Act, 1913.

I, ARTHUR MIELZINER MYERS, Minister of Customs, in exercise of the powers vested in me for this purpose by the Customs Act, 1913, do hereby revoke the appointment of the wharf known as Pipitea Wharf, Berth No. 1, as described in Minister’s warrant dated 8th March, 1915, and gazetted on the 25th idem, and do by this warrant alter the limits of the Breastwork Wharf as described in Minister’s warrant of appointment dated 28th May, 1914, and gazetted on 4th June, 1914, so that the said limits shall extend from the eastern side of the Taranaki Street Wharf to the eastern side of the King’s Wharf, thence first in an easterly direction for 284 ft., and then in a north-easterly direction for 1,660 ft.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Patea, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

PATEA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Proposal to raise a Special Loan of £6,000 under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.—Result of Poll.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Patea taken on the 25th day of June, 1919, on the proposal of the Patea Borough Council to borrow the sum of £6,000 for—
(a.) Alterations and additions to plant for water and drainage works, including all necessary plant: £2,000
(b.) Securing additional water-supply for generating electricity as a motive power for pumping, including all necessary plant: £4,000
the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 62, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 12. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Grading of Teachers.—Chairman of Appeal Boards appointed.

IT is hereby notified, for general information, that JOSEPH WILLIAM POYNTON, Stipendiary Magistrate, presently employed in the service of the Justice Department at New Plymouth, has been appointed Chairman of all Appeal Boards for the year 1919 set up to hear appeals in connection with the grading of teachers. This appointment is made under clause 18 of the regulations for the grading of teachers as amended by Order in Council of the 14th January, 1919.
