Appointment of a Deputy of the Governor-General.
TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME, I, ARTHUR WILLIAM DE BRITO SAVILE, Earl of Liverpool, Member of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Knight of Grace of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies—SEND GREETING.
WHEREAS by a Commission passed under the Royal Sign-manual and Signet bearing date at Saint James’s the twelfth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, His Majesty the King was pleased to appoint me to be Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over the Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies, with all and singular the powers granted to the Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief of the Dominion in Letters Patent under the Great Seal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, bearing date at Westminster the eleventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, as in the said Commission is particularly set forth:
