On work over £300 up to £600 in value, 8¾ per cent.,
but not less than £25.
On work over £600 up to £1,000 in value, 7½ per cent.,
but not less than £50.
For work over £1,000, 6¼ per cent., but not less than £75.
(b.) 50 per cent. of the amount is payable on completion
of the plans, specifications, and estimate, and the balance
on the completion of the work.
(c.) 25 per cent. of the above engineering charges may
be deducted when only plans, specifications, and estimates
are supplied, and where no supervision is required.
- GENERAL CONDITIONS.
(a.) All rates and charges in Classes 1, 2, 3, and 6 include
costs of labour, also all field and office expenses.
(b.) For the survey of country lands it shall be optional
for the surveyor to undertake the work at either acreage,
mileage, or by daily rate.
(c.) Equitable arrangements on the basis of these charges
to be made in cases unprovided for, or which may not come
strictly within the foregoing rates, or for which, through
special circumstances, the scheduled charge is inapplicable.
(d.) The plan of a survey is included in the survey charge,
but a duplicate plan, or a tracing of the plan, is to be charged
extra.
(e.) Duty stamps are to be charged at value.
(f.) In large surveys the surveyor shall be entitled to
progress payments. In all cases 75 per cent. of the total
cost of any survey is due on completion of the field work
and plan, and the balance on approval of the plan.

STRATFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the
Stratford Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking
fund and other charges on a loan of seven thousand pounds
(£7,000), authorized to be raised by the Stratford Borough
Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the following
purposes—namely, to provide additions and extensions to the
electric lighting and power works, either within or without
the borough, and to supply electricity, and in connection with
such additions and extensions to purchase or otherwise acquire
all such engines, machinery, poles, lines, plant, equipment,
materials, and other things, and to erect all such buildings as
may be considered necessary, to make alterations and addi-
tions to the power-houses, and extensions of the transmission
and distribution main lines, and any other purposes incidental
or in relation to any of the above purposes, the said Stratford
Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of
nine-sixteenths of a penny (9/16d.) in the pound upon the
rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of
all rateable property in the Borough of Stratford; and
that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate
during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on
the first day of October in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or
until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution
passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Stratford
Borough Council held on Monday, the 19th day of May, 1919.

OTAMATEA COUNTY COUNCIL.
EXTRACT FROM THE MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS OF THE
OTAMATEA COUNTY COUNCIL AT A MEETING OF SUCH
COUNCIL HELD ON THIS 19TH DAY OF MAY, 1919.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of
all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Otamatea
County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Wairau
Riding Loan of £4,500, 1919, authorized to be raised by the
said Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose
of metalling and general improvements of certain roads in the
Wairau Riding of the said county, the said county hereby
makes and levies a special rate of five-eighths of a penny in
the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the
capital value) of all rateable property in the Wairau Riding
of the said county; and that such special rate shall be an
annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan,
and be payable yearly on the 30th day of June in each year
during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-
six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabit-
ants of the Otamatea County Council were hereto affixed at
the office of and pursuant to a resolution of the Otamatea
County Council, in the presence of—

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the
matter of the Moto Chemical Company (Limited).
AT an extraordinary general meeting of members of the
Moto Chemical Company (Limited) held in the
registered office, 143 Hereford Street, Christchurch; on
Thursday, 22nd May, 1919, the following extraordinary
resolution was passed:—
“That it being proved to its satisfaction that the company
cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business the
company be voluntarily wound up, and that for the purpose
of such winding-up ROBERT TONKIN TOSSWILL, of Christ-
church, Public Accountant, be appointed Liquidator.”

WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE re HAWKINS ROAD
SUPPLEMENTARY LOAN, £150.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913 (sec-
tion 18), the Waipa County Council hereby resolves as fol-
lows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the interest and
other charges on a loan of £150, authorized to be raised by
the Waipa County Council, under the above-mentioned Act,
for the purpose of completing the metalling of Hawkins
Road, being 10 per cent. additional on a special loan of
£1,500, authorized to be raised by the consent of the rate-
payers of the Hawkins Road Special Rating Area, the said
Waipa County Council hereby makes and levies a special
rate of 1/10d. in the pound on the rateable value of all rate-
able property in the Hawkins Road Special Rating Area,
comprising all that area in the County of Waipa and Parish
of Te Rapa bounded, commencing at the south-eastern
corner of Section 25; thence by such section to its south-
western corner; thence by a road to the southern corner
of Section 50; thence by Section 49 to the northern corner
of such section; thence by Sections 49, 48, 42, 43, and 43A
to the eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence
by a road to a point opposite to the western corner of Sec-
tion 58; thence by a line across a road, and a road to the
western corner of Section 97; thence by Sections 100 and 99
to the southern corner of Section 98; thence by a road
bounding Sections 90, 89, and 88 to the Waikato River;
thence by the Waikato River to the commencing-point.
And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly
on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until
the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at
a properly constituted meeting of the Waipa County Council
held at Ohaupo on the 13th day of May, 1919.
