Extending Prohibition of Alienation of certain Native Lands other than Alienation in favour of the Crown.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fourteenth day of January, 1919.

Present:
THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, and by section one hundred and eleven of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913 (as amended by section eight of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1916), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby extend for a further period of eighteen months the Order in Council dated the twentieth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, and gazetted the twenty-third day of August, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, prohibiting all alienation of the Native lands (or of any subdivisions thereof) specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienation in favour of the Crown.

Amendment in the Regulations for Manual and Technical Instruction.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fourteenth day of January, 1919.

Present:
THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Education Act, 1914, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the amendment set out in the Schedule hereto in the Regulations for Manual and Technical Instruction made under the Manual and Technical Instruction Act, 1900, on the fourteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and two, as amended from time to time thereafter; and, with the like advice and consent, doth prescribe that this Order shall come into force on the date of the first publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

SCHEDULE.

REGULATIONS FOR MANUAL AND TECHNICAL INSTRUCTION.

THE regulations are hereby amended by the insertion of the following clause after clause 29:—

29A. For the purposes of recognition, classes must be instructed by teachers employed by a controlling authority or the managers of a technical school, and must be conducted on premises belonging to or under the control of the Government, or of a local authority, or, in the case of classes for swimming and life-saving, on premises open to public use.
