We hereby certify that the above resolution is a true copy
of and extract from the minutes of the proceedings. of the
Otorohanga Town Board as passed at a meeting of the said
Board at Otorohanga on the 21st day of April, 1919.

WAITOA DRAINAGE AREA.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATES.-TE PUNINGA SPECIAL
RATING AREA.-SPECIAL DRAINAGE-WORKS LOAN OF Β£500.
TN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the
Waitoa Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows :-
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of Β£500, authorized to be raised by the
Waitoa Drainage Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for
the purpose of constructing drainage-works in the Te Puninga
Special Rating Area of the Waitoa Drainage District, the
said Waitoa Drainage Board hereby makes and levies special
rates, on a graduated scale according to the classification list
of lands within the said special rating area, of one and three-
sixteenths of one penny in the pound on the rateable value
of all lands in Class "A," one penny in the pound on the
rateable value of all lands in Class "B," and thirteen-six-
teenths of one penny in the pound on the rateable value of
all lands in Class "C," all of which classes and the lands
therein together with their rateable values as appearing on
the special roll of the special rating area, are set out in the
classification list marked "A" of the Te Puninga Special
Rating Area of the Waitoa Drainage District, the boundaries
of which are as follows,
All that area of land in the Auckland Land District bounded
by a line commencing at the north-east corner of Lot 7 on
the western side of the No. 8 Road, and following along that
road forming the boundaries of Lots 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12
of Sections 96/7 of the Waitoa Estate Subdivision, and also
Section 98 of the Waitoa Estate Subdivision; to the south-
east corner of that section ; thence along the south and the
south-western boundary of Section 98 aforesaid to its north-
western corner, being also the southern boundary of Lot 12,
which along to the Waiharakeke Stream on its eastern side,
and along that stream to the north-western corner of Lot 7
of Sections 96/7 of the Waitoa Estate Subdivision, and
along the northern boundary of that allotment to the No. 8
Road, the point of commencement.
Such rates shall be annually recurring rates during the
currency of the loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first
day of March and the first day of September in each and
every year during the currency of such loan, being a period
of 36 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
We hereby certify that the above resolution was passed
at a meeting of the Waitoa Drainage Board properly consti-
tuted and held at Waihou on Saturday, 3rd May, 1919. In
testimony whereof the common seal of the Waitoa Drainage
Board is hereto affixed, set, and impressed.

WHAKATANE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
DECLARATION OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO ADOPT SYSTEM OF
RATING ON UNIMPROVED VALUE.
PURSUANT to section 39 of the Rating Act, 1908, I
hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of
the Borough of Whakatane taken on the 30th day of April,
1919, on the proposal that the system of rating in the said
borough be on the unimproved value, the number of votes
recorded for the proposal was 163, and the number of votes
recorded against the proposal was 92 ; the number of votes
informal was 10.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

BOROUGH OF PAEROA.
DECLARATION OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO ADOPT SYSTEM OF
RATING ON UNIMPROVED VALUES.
PURSUANT to section 39 of the Rating Act, 1908, I
hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of
the Borough of Paeroa taken on the 30th day of April, 1919,
on the proposal that the system of rating in the said borough
be on the unimproved value, the number of votes recorded
for the proposal was 155, and the number of votes recorded
against the proposal was 71.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
