Minister’s Decisions under Customs Duties Act.

Customs Department, Wellington, 6th May, 1919.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the Hon. the Minister of Customs has decided to interpret the Customs Duties Act in relation to the undermentioned articles as follows:—

NOTE.—“Not otherwise enumerated” appears as n.o.e.; “other kinds” as o.k.; “articles and materials suited only for, and to be used solely in, the fabrication of goods in the Dominion” as a. & m.s. Articles marked thus † are revised decisions.

3/397 A. & m.s., viz :—
Cylinders, metal, empty, peculiarly constructed to hold liquefied gases to be generated in New Zealand As a. & m.s. (482) Free.
3/340/2 Welding rods, of steel or aluminium, specially suited for acetone or electric welding
Educational apparatus, &c. :—

The following are admitted free on declaration that they have been specially imported and will be used solely for educational purposes in a school, college, or university, and that they will not be removed therefrom without payment of the duty :—

Public Service Stores Tender Board.—Supply and Delivery of Stores.

Wellington, 5th May, 1919.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary to the Board, Post and Telegraph Stores, Wellington, not later than 4 p.m. on Monday, the 5th June, 1919, for the supply and delivery at Tauranga, Whangarei, Mangapai or Opua, and Blenheim of cement, lime, drainpipes, bricks, &c., for the year ending 30th June, 1920.

Public Service Stores Tender Board.—Supply and Delivery of Stores.

Wellington, 5th May, 1919.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary to the Board, Post and Telegraph Stores, Wellington, not later than 4 p.m. on Monday, the 5th June, 1919, for the supply and delivery at Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, Wellington, Gisborne, Wanganui, Napier, Stratford, New Plymouth, Nelson, Greymouth, and Invercargill of bricks cement, lime, drainpipes, oils, spirits, &c., required by the New Zealand Government for the period ending 30th June, 1920.

Forms and conditions of tender for all places except New Plymouth and Wellington may be obtained at the local offices of the Public Works Department; at New Plymouth the forms may be obtained at the chief post-office, and at Wellington at the office of the Secretary to the Board.
