Appportionment of Representation on and Election of Representatives to the Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this eighth day of April, 1919.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE W. H. HERRIES PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and twenty-seven of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1917, the Horowhenua County and all boroughs and town districts within the boundaries thereof were included in the Palmerston North Hospital District, and excluded from the Wellington Hospital District:
And whereas by Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette on the twentieth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, the City of Wellington and the Borough of Onslow were constituted one united borough, and the boundaries of the said city were so constituted as to include the said borough:
And whereas by section nine, subsection two, of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, it is enacted that the number of representatives of each contributory district on a Hospital Board shall be such as is determined from time to time in each case by the Governor-General by Order in Council:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, doth hereby determine that the number of representatives of each of the contributory districts within the Wellington Hospital District shall be as set forth in the Schedule hereto, and that the first election of such representatives shall be held on Wednesday, the thirtieth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen; and doth hereby direct that the regulations made by Order in Council dated the third day of September, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, shall as far as applicable apply as if incorporated in this Order in Council.

THE following special order, made by the Christchurch City Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908.

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL.
In pursuance of the powers conferred by section 125 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves by special order to create subdivisions in the City of Christchurch. The boundaries of the said subdivisions and their names and the number of Councillors to be elected in respect of each of them shall be as follows:—
Central Ward.
Commencing at the junction of Bealey Avenue and Park Terrace; thence southerly along Park Terrace and Rolleston Avenue to Lincoln Road; thence along Lincoln Road to Moorhouse Avenue; thence easterly along the centre of Moorhouse Avenue to its junction with Fitzgerald Avenue; thence northerly along the centre of Fitzgerald Avenue to the left bank of the River Avon; thence easterly along the left bank of the said River Avon to a point opposite the continuation of a line forming the northern boundary of a subdivision of Rural Section 197, containing 5 acres 2 roods; thence westerly along the northern boundary of the said subdivision to a road intersecting Rural Section 197; thence along the eastern side of that road to a point opposite a private road in continuation of North Avon Road; thence westerly and southerly along the centre of the said private road and North Avon Road to the junction of the latter with Bealey Avenue; thence westerly along the centre of Bealey Avenue to the starting-point.
The number of Councillors to be elected for Central Ward to be six.
Linwood Ward.
Commencing at a point on the south side of the River Avon at the junction of River Road with Fitzgerald Avenue; thence southerly along the centre of Fitzgerald Avenue to Ferry Road; thence along the centre of Ferry Road to Wilson’s Road; thence along the centre of Wilson’s Road to the Railway Reserve; thence south-easterly along the northern side of the Railway Reserve to Ensor’s Road; thence north-easterly along Ensor’s Road to Ferry Road; thence south-easterly along Ferry Road to Aldwin’s Road; thence north-easterly along Aldwin’s Road to Linwood Avenue; thence across Linwood Avenue to Buckley’s Road; thence north-easterly along Buckley’s Road to New Brighton Road; thence northerly along New Brighton Road and Kerr’s Road to the right bank of the River Avon; thence westerly along the right bank of the River Avon to the starting-point.
The number of Councillors to be elected for Linwood Ward to be three.
St. Albans Ward.
Commencing at a point on Norman’s Road, being the northernmost part of Rural Section 242; thence south-easterly along the creek to its junction with the Wairarapa Stream; thence along the bank of the Wairarapa Stream to Fulton Avenue; thence easterly along Fulton Avenue to Rossall Street; thence along Rossall Street south-easterly to the left bank of the River Avon; thence along the left bank of the River Avon to Bealey Avenue; thence easterly along the centre of Bealey Avenue to North Avon Road; thence north-easterly along the centre of North Avon Road to North Parade; thence easterly along a private road in continuation of North Avon Road to a road intersecting Rural Section 197; thence along the northern boundary of a subdivision of Rural Section 197, containing 5 acres 2 roods, to the River Avon; thence along the left bank of the River Avon to its junction with Dudley Creek; thence along Dudley Creek Road and Banks Avenue to Marshland Road; thence along Marshland Road to Shirley Road; thence along Shirley Road to the southern boundary of Rural Section 345; thence along the north-east boundary of Rural Section 345 to Innes Road; thence along Innes Road to McFadden’s Road; thence along McFadden’s Road to Rutland Street; thence along Rutland Street to May’s Road; thence along May’s Road to Papanui Road; thence south-easterly along Papanui Road to Norman’s Road; thence south-westerly along Norman’s Road to the starting-point.
The number of Councillors to be elected for St. Albans Ward to be three.
Sydenham Ward.
Commencing at the junction of Jerrold Street and Lincoln Road; thence along Jerrold Street to South Crescent Road; thence along South Crescent Road to Strickland Street; thence along Strickland Street to Colombo Street; thence along Colombo Street to the River Heathcote; thence along the left bank of the River Heathcote to Tennyson Street; thence across the River Heathcote to Burnbrae Street; thence along Burnbrae Street to St. Martin’s Road; thence along St. Martin’s Road to Port Hills Road; thence along Port Hills Road to a creek running into the River Heathcote opposite Heathcote Street; thence across the River Heathcote; thence along the left bank of the said river to the Christchurch and Lyttelton Railway Reserve; thence along the southern boundary of the Railway Reserve to Wilson’s Road; thence northerly along the centre of Wilson’s Road to Ferry Road; thence along the centre of Ferry Road to Fitzgerald Avenue; thence southerly along the centre of Fitzgerald Avenue to Moorhouse Avenue; thence along the centre of Moorhouse Avenue to the Lincoln Road; thence southerly along Lincoln Road to the starting-point.
The number of Councillors to be elected for Sydenham Ward to be four.
