Declaring a Portion of Railway Reserve at Springfield to
be Crown Land.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section five of the Public Works Amend-
ment Act, 1909, it is provided that in the case of any
land taken, purchased, or acquired for a Government work,
and not required for that purpose, the Governor-General
may, on recommendation by the Minister, by Proclamation
declare such land to be Crown land subject to the Land Act,
1908, and thereupon the land may be administered and dis-
posed of under that Act accordingly:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto
has been, inter alia, acquired for the purposes of the
Rolleston-Springfield Colliery Branch of the Hurunui-
Waitaki Railway by a Proclamation dated the ninth day of
December, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two.
and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 107, of the
fourteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-two: And whereas the said land is not now
required for the purposes of the Rolleston-Springfield
Colliery Branch of the Hurunui-Waitaki Railway, and the
Minister has recommended that this Proclamation should
be issued declaring such land to be Crown land:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities conferred on me by section five of the Public
Works Amendment Act, 1909, and of every other power and
authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby
proclaim and declare the land described in the Schedule
hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land: 5 acres 2 roods
5:3 perches.
Portion of railway reserve, Block XII, Kowai Survey
District, Tawera County. (S.O. 24lv, red.)
In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked W.R. 26179
(sheet 1), deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways
at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint

Proclaiming Native Land to be Crown Land under Section 14
of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section fourteen of the Native Land
Amendment Act, 1914, it is provided, inter alia,
that on being satisfied that the purchase of any Native land
has been duly completed by or on behalf of the Crown under
the authority of the Native Land Act, 1909, the Governor-
General may issue a Proclamation that such land has become
Crown land:
And whereas the purchase of the Native land set out in
the Schedule hereto has been duly completed by or on
behalf of the Crown under the authority of the Native Land
Act, 1909:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power
and authority so conferred upon me by section fourteen of
the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, I, Arthur William
de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the land
set out in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land.
SCHEDULE.
TUTAEKURI lc llB Block: Approximate area, 314 acres
3 roods 8 perches; Taramarama Survey District.

Section 368 of the Native Land Act, 1909.

WHEREAS by section three hundred and sixty-eight
of the Native Land Act, 1909 (hereinafter referred
to as "the said Act"), it is provided, inter alia, that the
Crown may purchase any Native land in pursuance of a
resolution of the assembled owners passed and confirmed
in accordance with Part XVIII of the said Act, and on
