All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 22 perches, more or less, and being Reserve 4021 (formerly part of Reserve 1200), situated in Block IX, Opihi Survey District. Bounded towards the north by a public road, 246·8 links; towards the south-east by Lot 1 of Reserve 1200, 413·1 links; and towards the west by a public road, 241·6 and 85 links. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 20/34, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red. For an endowment for primary education.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.

All that area, situated in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 0 roods 7 perches, more or less, being Section 23, Block VI, Tarras Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west and north-east by Section 25, Block VI aforesaid, 494·9 and 149·5 links respectively; again towards the north-east and north-west by Section 24, Block VI aforesaid, 356 and 399·2 links respectively; and again towards the north-east by a public road, 284·2 links; towards the south-west generally by River-bank Reserve, 1310·8 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/642, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. For a public recreation-ground.

All that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being Section 35A (formerly portion of Section 24A), Elderslie Settlement, situated in Block III, Kauroo Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Section 24A, Block III aforesaid, 873·1 links; towards the north-east by a road-line, 854·1 links; towards the south-east by part Section 22, Block III aforesaid, 356·3 links; and towards the south-west by a road-line, 853·6 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/6/18A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For a site for a public school.

Lands temporarily reserved in the Nelson Land District.


LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the Nelson Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 0 roods 10 perches, more or less, and being Section 52, Block III, Kawatiri Survey District, in the Borough of Westport. Bounded towards the north by the Orowaiti Road, 257·95 links; towards the east by Sections 1 and 2, Leaver Settlement, 518·05 links; towards the south-east by Packington Street, 137·8 links; and towards the south-west by Haseldean Street, 571·2 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/2403, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For an addition to a site for a public hospital.

All that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 628 acres, more or less, being Section 18, Block III, Burnett Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Section 9, Block III aforesaid; towards the east by Section 5, Block IV, Burnett Survey District; towards the south generally by Section 19, Block III aforesaid; and towards the west generally by a public road along the right bank of the Maruia River: excepting the public road which intersects the land included within the aforesaid boundaries.

Also all that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 635 acres, more or less, being Section 19, Block III, Burnett Survey District. Bounded towards the north generally by Section 18, Block III aforesaid; towards the north-east by Section 5, Block IV, Burnett Survey District; towards the east by Crown lands; towards the south-west generally by Section 5, Block VII, Burnett Survey District; and towards the south and west generally by a public road along the right bank of the Maruia River: excepting the public road which intersects the land included within the aforesaid boundaries.

As the same are delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 20/73, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

For endowments for primary education.

Removing Protection from Californian Quail in the Murchison County.


LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that Californian quail shall, as from the date hereof, cease to come within the operation of the said Act within the County of Murchison.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this fourteenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Military Service Act, 1916.—Abolishing certain Military Service Boards and revoking Appointments of Members thereof.


LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by Warrants dated the twenty-sixth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and the twenty-fourth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, certain Military Service Boards were constituted and established:

And whereas the services of the First Auckland Military Service Board, Second Auckland Military Service Board, First Wellington Military Service Board, Second Wellington Military Service Board, First Canterbury Military Service Board, Second Canterbury Military Service Board, and First Otago Military Service Board are no longer required, and it is expedient to abolish these Boards:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the authority conferred on me by section nineteen of the Military Service Act, 1916, do hereby abolish the First Auckland Military Service Board, Second Auckland Military Service Board, First Wellington Military Service Board, Second Wellington Military Service Board, First Canterbury Military Service Board, Second
