That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of nine hundred and fifty pounds (£950), authorized to be raised by the Piako County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of completing the metalling of No. 8 Road in the Waiota Riding of the said county, the Piako County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one farthing in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the No. 8 Road Special Rating Area, being bounded as follows: Commencing at a point where No. 8 Road crosses the railway-line at Tatuanui, along the railway-line in a north-easterly direction for a distance of about 80 chains to a point where the south-western boundary-line of Section 68A of the Waiota Estate junctions with the railway; thence westerly along the southern boundary of the said Section 68A for a distance of about 25 chains; thence by a right line northerly to the boundary-line between Sections 68 and 63 of the said Waiota Subdivision; thence continuing northerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 68, 67, and 66, and continuing on along a right line through the centre of Sections 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, and 77 of the said subdivision; thence westerly along the northern boundary of Section 77 to No. 8 Road; thence continuing westerly across Section 92 of the said subdivision to a point on the boundary-line between Sections 92 and 91 about 30 chains north of No. 4 Road; thence southerly along the western boundaries of Sections 92 and 93 to Section 96; thence westerly along the northern boundary of Section 96 to the Waiharakeke Stream, along the Waiharakeke Stream in a generally southerly direction to where it meets the south-west corner of Waihongi Tatuanui Block, along the southern boundary of such block easterly for a distance of about 60 chains, and thence by a right line south to the railway-line, which along to the point of commencement.

And that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

We hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Piako County Council held on Monday, the 17th day of February, 1919.

FEATHERSTON COUNTY COUNCIL.

DRY RIVER BRIDGE LOAN, £1,200.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Featherston County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £1,200, authorized to be raised by the Featherston County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the construction of a bridge over the Dry River, and making the necessary protective works and approaches thereto, the said Featherston County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fourth of a penny in the pound sterling upon the rateable value of all rateable properties of the Dry River Special Rating District, comprising all that area within the Otaraia Riding of the county commencing at the northernmost point of Section 11, Block XVI, Wairarapa S.D.; thence in a southerly direction along the south-eastern bank of the Ruamahunga River to the northernmost point of the Turanganui Riding; thence in a southerly direction along the boundaries of the Turanganui and Otaraia Ridings to the southernmost point of Section 91, Block III, Haurangi S.D.; thence north-easterly along the said Section 91 to the westernmost point of Section 46; thence along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of the said Section 46; thence along the eastern boundary of Section 45 to Section 44; thence along the southern boundaries of Sections 44 and 93; thence along the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 93 to Section 91, Block IV, Haurangi S.D.; thence along the south-western boundaries of the said Section 91 and Section 77 to the Dry River Stream; thence in a north-easterly direction along the said Dry River Stream to a point opposite the southernmost portion of that part of Section 7B, Block XVI, Wairarapa S.D., lying on the north-eastern side of the Dry River Stream; thence across the said stream, and thence in a north-easterly direction along the said part of Section 7B to its junction with the Dyerville Road; thence along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of the said part Section 7B to the Dry River Stream; thence along the said stream to the place of commencement. And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of April and the first day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Featherston County Council held on the 14th day of February, 1919.

WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL.

HAWKINS ROAD 10-PER-CENT. ADDITIONAL LOAN OF £150.—RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, section 18, the Waipa County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the interest and other charges on a loan of £150, authorized to be raised by the said Council, for the purpose of completing the metalling of Hawkins Road, being 10 per cent. additional on a special loan of £1,500, authorized to be raised by consent of the ratepayers in the Hawkins Road Special Rating District, the said Waipa County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/10th of a penny in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in the Hawkins Road Special Rating District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Waipa County Council held at Ohaupo on the 11th day of February, 1919.

WAIKOHU COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE.—MADE ON FOURTEENTH DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1919.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Waikohu County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £600, authorized to be raised by the Waikohu County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for making a 14 ft. road in Run 47 (Makaretu Deviation), the said Waikohu County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of eleven-twelfths (11/12 ths) of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Makaretu No. III Special Rating Area, comprising Sections 4 of Block VI, 9, 10, 11, 13, of Block III, 3, 4, 6, 7, of Block VII, Ngatapa Survey District, of a total rateable value of £11,956; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Waikohu was hereto affixed in the presence of—

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and all other powers it thereto enabling, the Otamatea County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £4,750 (four thousand seven hundred and fifty pounds), authorized to be raised under section 16, subsection (e), of the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of metalling and improving roads in the Mapau Special Rating Area of the Mataoke Riding of the Otamatea County, the Otamatea County Council hereby makes and levies a specia
