that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person.

No licensee shall take or kill more than three stags, and no stag shall be killed carrying antlers with less than ten points.

No hind or fawn shall be taken or killed on any pretext whatever; and no licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him.

Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.

Regulations as to deer “tags” per New Zealand Gazette No. 40, Vol. I, of 20th May, 1909, page 1408, shall be strictly adhered to by each licensee, who, in addition thereto, shall return all unused “tags” to the secretary of the Hawke’s Bay Acclimatization Society, Napier, immediately he has finished stalking for the season for which such “tags” have been issued, together with a statement of the number of deer shot.

Any person committing a breach of any of these regulations shall be liable, on conviction, to a fine not exceeding £20.

Regulations for Deer-shooting, Otago.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations prescribing the deer-shooting season in the Otago Acclimatization District, and the conditions affecting the same, and also the form of license and the fee payable therefor.

REGULATIONS.

RED-DEER stags may be taken or killed within the Otago Acclimatization District, in the Hunter Valley, Dingle, Hawea Flat, and Makarora districts from the 1st day of April, 1919, to the 20th day of May, 1919 (both days inclusive), and in the Greenvale, Wart Hill, Upper Pomahaka, and Whitecomb districts from Monday, 24th March, 1919, to 13th May, 1919 (both days inclusive).

Fallow-deer bucks may be taken or killed within the said district, except in the areas described in the First Schedule hereto, from the 1st day of April, 1919, to the 15th day of May, 1919 (both days inclusive).

Licenses to take or kill red-deer stags may be issued by the Chief Postmaster, Dunedin, on the recommendation of the Secretary of the Otago Acclimatization Society, on payment of a license fee of £4 for the Hunter Valley, Dingle, Hawea Flat, and Makarora districts; and £3 for the Greenvale, Wart Hill, Upper Pomahaka, and Whitecomb districts; and licenses to take or kill fallow-deer bucks may be issued by the said Chief Postmaster and the Postmaster at Tapanui, upon a like recommendation, on payment of a license fee of £2; such licenses to be issued in the form prescribed in the Second Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and these regulations.

No licensee shall take or kill more than four red-deer stags in the Hunter Valley, Dingle, Hawea Flat, or Makarora districts, nor more than two red-deer stags in the Greenvale, Wart Hill, Upper Pomahaka, and Whitecomb districts, nor more than two fallow-deer bucks; and no red-deer stag shall be killed carrying antlers with less than ten points, and no fallow-deer buck shall be killed carrying antlers with less than fourteen points (on a palmate of less than 4 in.). Ball cartridge only to be used.

The licensee must give notice to the said Chief Postmaster or the Postmaster at Tapanui of the date on which it is his intention to stalk deer; such notice to be posted, or delivered, or telegraphed three clear days before such date.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations prescribing the deer-shooting season in the South Canterbury Acclimatization District (as defined in the New Zealand Gazette of the sixteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven, comprising the Counties of Geraldine and Levels and part of the County of Mackenzie), and the conditions affecting the same, and also the form of license and the fee payable therefor.

REGULATIONS.

FALLOW-DEER bucks may be taken or killed within the South Canterbury Acclimatization District from the 1st day of April, 1919, to the 31st day of May, 1919, both days inclusive.

Licenses to take or kill such deer may be issued by the Postmaster at Temuka, upon the recommendation of the secretary of the South Canterbury Acclimatization Society, on payment of a license fee of £2, in the form prescribed in the Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and these regulations. The number of such licenses to be issued by the said Postmaster shall not exceed twenty; provided that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person.
