Stopping Government Roads in Block X, Hapuakohe Survey District, Waikato County.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by paragraph (c) of section one hundred and thirty-three of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, by Proclamation publicly notified, stop or alter the course of any Government road or any part thereof:

And whereas the Government roads described in the Schedule hereto are no longer required for the purposes of roads:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the above-in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim as stopped the roads described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of road hereby stopped:—
A. R. P. Adjoining or passing through
1 3 36 Sections 249 and 252, Crown land.
0 3 3·4 Section 253, Crown land.

Situated in Taupiri Parish, Block X, Hapuakohe Survey District. (S.O. 19707.)

In the Auckland Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 45462, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured green.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Member of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Knight of Grace of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twelfth day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Prison proclaimed.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled the Prisons Act, 1908, it is provided that the Governor-General may, by Proclamation published in the Gazette, declare any house, building, enclosure, or place to be a prison; and from and after the gazetting of any such Proclamation, or from any time later specified in the Proclamation, such house, building, enclosure, or place shall be deemed a prison:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the above-recited power and authority, do hereby declare that the area of land described in the Schedule hereto, and all buildings and enclosures used or occupied thereon, shall, from and after the date of the publication of this Proclamation in the Gazette, be a prison, known as the Timaru Prison, within the meaning and for the purposes of the Prisons Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods, more or less, being part Reserve 203 (formerly Timaru Town Sections 132, 133, 134, 135, 136, 147, and 148), situated in the Borough of Timaru. Bounded towards the north by North Street, 500 links; towards the east by Section 131, 250 links; towards the south by Sections 144, 145, and 146, 300 links; again towards the east by Section 146, 250 links; again towards the south by Heaton Street, 200 links; and towards the west by Sections 149 and 137, 500 links. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.D. 1919/16/2, deposited in the Head Office of the Prisons Department at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
