THE following Notice to Mariners is issued by the Admiralty, under date of 3rd February instant.

MASTERS of vessels whose voyages lie wholly in waters other than the areas given below need no longer obtain route instructions before sailing, as all waters except those mentioned below are considered clear of mines, and complete normal freedom of navigation, as far as they are concerned, is restored.

The exceptions referred to in paragraph 1 are as follows:—
[These areas are not yet cleared of mines, and masters whose voyages lie wholly or in part through them must continue to obtain route instructions from the usual sources before entering them.]
(a.) All waters of the Atlantic, North Sea, Baltic, &c., which are north of latitude 43° N., south of latitude 63° N., and east of longitude 11° W.
(b.) Arctic: The areas enclosed by latitude 61° N., longitude 30° E., and longitude 45° E.
(c.) The whole of the Mediterranean and Black Seas.
(d.) Atlantic Ocean: The area within a 90-mile radius of Halifax, Nova Scotia.
(e.) Indian and China Seas: That portion of the Indian and China Seas which lies between longitude 70° E. and longitude 107° E., and between Asia and the Equator.
(f.) New Zealand: The whole of the area bounded on the north by latitude 30° S., on the east by longitude 179° E., on the south by latitude 43° S., and on the west by latitude 170° E.

NOTICE is hereby given that the education reserves described in the Schedule hereto will be offered for lease by public auction at the Courthouse, Temuka, on Tuesday, the 8th day of April, 1919, at 4 o'clock p.m., under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1908, and the Public Bodies' Leases Act, 1908.

Good swamp land, well grassed, but somewhat overgrown with rushes. Access by good road, about seven miles and a half from Temuka Railway-station.
