Wellington, 13th February, 1919. ROBERT TRIGGS, Public Trustee.
Licensing Amendment Act, 1918.—Notice respecting Closing of Supplementary Electoral Rolls.
Chief Electoral Office,
Wellington, 11th February, 1919.
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that by section 6 of the above Act it is provided that the general roll in every electoral district shall be closed on the 6th day of January, 1919, but that claims for enrolment on the supplementary roll in each district may be received by the Registrar of Electors of such district up to, but not after, a date which shall be thirty-five days before the day fixed for the taking of the special licensing poll.
Thursday, the 10th day of April, 1919, has been duly appointed to be the date on which the special licensing poll shall be taken, and therefore Thursday, the 6th day of March, 1919 (being thirty-five days before the 10th April), is the last day on which Registrars of Electors can receive claims for enrolment on a supplementary roll.
Therefore every person entitled to be registered in a district whose name is not entered upon the general roll of such district should, on or before the 6th March, 1919, lodge with the Registrar of Electors of such district a claim in the prescribed form to be entered on the supplementary roll of such district, otherwise the right to vote at the special licensing poll will be lost.
G. G. HODGKINS,
Deputy Chief Electoral Officer.
