delivered at the headworks or dam in excess of the
quantity which the turbines installed are capable of
utilizing.

(h.) Requiring the licensee to submit for the Minister's
approval, before the works are commenced, detail
plans of the dam, pipe-line, and headworks.

(i.) For all or any of the purposes prescribed by the regula-
tions under section 2 of the Public Works Amend-
ment Act, 1911, published in Gazette No. 116, of
25th September, 1919, pages 2988 to 2994, both
inclusive.

  1. Before the issue of the license the licensee shall deposit
    with the Public Trustee a sum of £1 per kilowatt for every
    kilowatt authorized to be used, but not exceeding a maxi-
    mum deposit of £500. Such deposit shall be retained by the
    Public Trustee, without payment of interest, until the licensee
    produces a certificate under the hand of an officer appointed
    by the Minister to the effect that the licensee has duly and
    properly constructed and installed on the premises the whole
    of the hydraulic and electrical installations authorized by the
    license.

  2. In order to standardize the conditions as far as possible
    throughout the Dominion, it is suggested that when con-
    venient the three-phase four-wire system be adopted for dis-
    tribution at a frequency of 50 cycles per second, and a voltage
    of 230 between each phase and a neutral for lighting purposes
    and small motors, and 400 volts between phases for supply
    to large motors.

Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.—Joint Special Loan under
Part II.

NOTICE is hereby given that each of the local authorities
named in the Schedule hereunder (1) has taken all
the steps required to be taken under the above-named Act
prior to the raising of a special loan of the amount set
opposite the name of such local authority in the said Schedule,
and (2) has passed a resolution as required by Part II of
the above-named Act for the raising of a joint special loan
of the amount of £17,000 in union with the other said local
authority, and (3) has complied with all other conditions
prescribed in the case of a joint special loan by the above-
mentioned Act, and (4) has named the Dargaville Borough
Council to be the agent of the other said local authority
for the purposes of the joint special loan, and to be the
principal local authority as defined in Part II of the said Act.
