GISBORNE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—GISBORNE BOROUGH £7,000 LOAN FOR SEA OUTFALL, STANLEY ROAD SEPTIC TANK; PUBLIC CONVENIENCES, PEEL STREET; AND ACQUISITION OF ADDITIONAL LAND, SCORE POINT AND ABERDEEN ROAD RESERVES.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Gisborne Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £7,000, authorized to be raised by the Gisborne Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for—
(1.) Sea outfall, Stanley Road septic tank : £1,500
(2.) Public conveniences, Peel Street : £2,500
(3.) Acquisition additional land, Score Point and Aberdeen Road Reserves : £3,000
the said Gisborne Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3/32nds of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Gisborne, comprising the whole of the Borough of Gisborne, as described in the New Zealand Gazette of 17th January, 1918, No. 5, folio 162 ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
In witness whereof the common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Gisborne was hereto affixed by order of the said Council this 18th day of November, 1919, in the presence of—

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—GISBORNE BOROUGH £17,000 LOAN FOR STREET FORMATION AND METALLING.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Gisborne Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £17,500, authorized to be raised by the Gisborne Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for street formation and metalling (on such street as the Council may decide), the said Gisborne Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 13/64ths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Gisborne, comprising the whole of the Borough of Gisborne, as described in the New Zealand Gazette of 17th January, 1918, No. 5, folio 162 ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—GISBORNE BOROUGH £35,000 LOAN FOR BRIDGE ACROSS THE TURANGANUI RIVER.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Gisborne Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on the loan of £35,000, authorized to be raised by the Gisborne Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for a ferro-concrete bridge across the Turanganui River at the end of Gladstone Road, connecting Wainui Road, and straightening approaches thereto, the said Gisborne Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 13/32nds of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Gisborne, comprising the whole of the Borough of Gisborne, as described in the New Zealand Gazette of 17th January, 1918, No. 5, folio 162 ; and such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—GISBORNE BOROUGH £18,000 LOAN FOR GENERAL IMPROVEMENTS, TE HAPARA SPECIAL DISTRICT.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Gisborne Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £18,000, authorized to be raised by the Gisborne Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for—
(1.) Water reticulation within Te Hapara .. £ 4,000
Amount to be paid to Council for pipeline, reservoir, pumping-station, and headworks, &c., and spent in extension of works 5,000
(2.) Sewerage reticulation, Te Hapara.. .. 6,000
Amount to be paid to Council for right to use pumping-station, mains, and septic tank, and be spent on extension of works 500
(3.) Electric-light reticulation within Te Hapara 1,000
Amount to be charged against loan towards main scheme and spent in extension of works in the borough .. .. 1,500
Total .. .. .. £18,000
the said Gisborne Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 4½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Te Hapara Special Area of the Borough of Gisborne, comprising all that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the right bank of the Taruheru River where the western boundary of the Borough of Gisborne meets the said right bank ; thence along the present western boundary of the said borough to its intersection with the northern boundary of Lot E of Matawhero B Block ; thence along the said northern boundary of Lot E to the western boundary of the said Matawhero B Block ; thence along the said western boundary to the Gisborne–Makaraka Railway line ; thence across the said railway-line to and along the southern boundary of Lot 1, Matawhero B Block, to the boundary between the Gisborne Park Racecourse and the Elgin Township ; thence along that boundary and its production to the right bank of the Taruheru River, and along the right bank of that river to the present boundary of the Borough of Gisborne, the place of commencement.
And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

HOBSON COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Hobson County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Dargaville Borough Council joint loan with the Hobson County Council of £17,000, 1919, authorized to be raised by the Hobson County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of constructing a traffic-bridge over the Northern Wairoa River, the said Hobson County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one farthing in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Wairoa Bridge Special Rating
