Date of Election to fill Extraordinary Vacancy on the Waitara Fire Board by Fire-insurance Companies.

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1909, and the rules made thereunder, I, John Bird Hine, Minister of Internal Affairs, being the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act, do hereby appoint Thursday, the 18th December, 1919, to be the date for holding the election of one member of the Waitara Fire Board by the fire-insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill an extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. L. S. H. Clark.

NOTICE is hereby given that His Excellency the Governor-General has, in pursuance of section 48 of the Land Act, 1908, approved of meetings of the Hawke’s Bay Land Board being held during the year 1920 at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, at 10 o’clock a.m. on Thursday, 6th January, 12th February, 11th March, 8th April, 13th May, 10th June, 8th July, 12th August, 9th September, 14th October, 11th November, and 9th December; and at the local Lands and Survey Office at Gisborne on Monday, the 19th January, 19th April, 19th July, and 25th October.

NOTICE is hereby given that His Excellency the Governor-General has, in pursuance of section 48 of the Land Act, 1908, approved of meetings of the Canterbury Land Board being held at the principal Land Office, Christchurch, at 10 o’clock a.m. on Thursday, 29th January, 26th February, 25th March, 29th April, 27th May, 24th June, 29th July, 26th August, 30th September, 28th October, 25th November, and 9th December during the year 1920.

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Road of Less Width than Sixty-six Feet.

WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Minister of Lands, it is inexpedient, by reason of the fact that the land shown upon the plan of Tirohanga Township affecting part Rural Sections 551 and 1335, prepared by F. W. Freeman, licensed surveyor, and lodged in the Land Transfer Office at Christchurch on the 8th day of April, 1919, is intended to be used wholly for residential purposes, that the road shown therein (Lot 8) should be of the width of 66 ft. :

Now, therefore, I, David Henry Guthrie, Minister of Lands, do hereby, in pursuance of the power vested in me by section 2 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1915, and of every other power me thereunto enabling, authorize the laying-off of such road of a width of 33 ft.; providing always that it shall not be lawful for any person to erect or cause to be erected any building at a less distance than 33 ft. from the middle-line of such road.

Given under my hand this 18th day of November, 1919.
