Land taken for the Purposes of an Automatic Telephone Exchange in the City of Wellington.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, for a certain public work—to wit, for the purposes of an automatic telephone exchange in the City of Wellington:

And whereas an agreement has been entered into, in terms of section twenty-seven of the said Act, to take such land for the public work hereinafter set forth:

And whereas a plan has been prepared, and the Minister has recommended the Governor-General to issue a Proclamation taking the land as required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, and being satisfied of the sufficiency of the agreement hereinbefore referred to, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of an automatic telephone exchange; and I also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the fourth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 8·82 perches. Portion of Lot 2 on D.P. 1633, part of Section 28, Karori, City of Wellington (Karori R.D.).

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 47424, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Member of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Knight of Justice of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Regulations for the Military Forces of New Zealand amended.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Defence Act, 1909, and its amendments, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby amend, in the manner and to the extent set forth in the Schedule hereto, the regulations for the Military Forces of New Zealand made on the twenty-second day of December, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-seventh day of January, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen; and I do hereby declare that the amendment hereby made shall take effect as from the date of publication thereof in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE.

REGULATIONS FOR N.Z. MILITARY FORCES, 1913.

(1.) AFTER para. 129 add the following additional paragraph:—

“129A. The Minister of Defence may at any time submit to the Governor-General the name of any officer of the New Zealand Staff Corps, Royal New Zealand Artillery, New Zealand Army Pay Department, New Zealand Army Ordnance Department, or New Zealand Permanent Staff, whom the General Officer Commanding reports as being incompetent or otherwise unsuitable to continue to exercise the duties of his rank or appointment, and to recommend the Governor-General to cancel the commission of such officer in pursuance of section 5 (a), Defence Act, 1909.”
