Amending Regulations under the War Regulations Act, 1914.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of November, 1919.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the War Regulations Act, 1914, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend, in the manner set forth in the Schedule hereto, the regulations made under the said Act by Order in Council dated the third day of April, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the fourth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, whereby certain restrictions are imposed on the incorporation of companies, the acquisition of shares and debentures by alien enemies, and the carrying-on of business by alien enemies.

SCHEDULE.

  1. CLAUSE 24 of the said regulations is hereby amended by adding the words “or being satisfied that, notwithstanding the existence of such an interest, the incorporation of the company is not contrary to the public interest” before the words “authorizes the issue of such certificate.”

  2. Clauses 26 (a), 26 (b), and 27 of the said regulations are hereby amended by the insertion at the commencement of each clause of the words “Save with the permission of the Attorney-General.”
