I [We], , do hereby assign and transfer as from this date by way of sale [or gift] [Strike out “sale” or “gift” as may be necessary] the sum of pounds New Zealand -per-cent. stock inscribed in my [our] name under the New Zealand Inscribed Stock Act, 1917, and all my [our] property, right, and interest in and to the said stock and dividends thereon, unto , of , his [their] executors, administrators, or assigns, and the Registrar is hereby requested to transfer the same.

A revenue stamp representing the prescribed transfer fee of five shillings is affixed hereto. [Affix 5s. revenue stamp in margin.]

THE following Notices to Mariners, which have been received from the Hydrographic Office, London ; the Hydrographic Office, Washington ; and the Governor, Balboa Heights, are published for general information.

IRELAND.

WEST COAST.—LOOP HEAD.—ALTERATION IN PERIOD OF FOG-SIGNAL.

Position.—Near Loop Head Lighthouse; lat. 52° 33⅔' N., long. 9° 56' W.

Alteration.—The explosive signal now gives one report every five minutes instead of every ten minutes as formerly.

SOUTH COAST.—FASTNET ROCK.—ALTERATION IN FOG-SIGNAL.

Position.—At Fastnet Rock Lighthouse; lat. 51° 23⅔' N., long. 9° 36¼' W.

Alteration.—The explosive signal now gives one report every four minutes instead of every five minutes as formerly.

ENGLAND.

EAST COAST.—LEMAN BANK LIGHT-VESSEL WITHDRAWN.

Position.—Off the tail of the Leman Bank; lat. 52° 59¾' N., long. 2° 19½' E.

Description.—A light-vessel formerly exhibiting an alternating group flashing white and red light.

Remarks.—The light-vessel has been withdrawn, and is to be expunged from the charts.

CANADA.

BRITISH COLUMBIA. — VANCOUVER ISLAND. — TRIANGLE ISLAND.—LIGHT DISCONTINUED.

Position.—Lat. 50° 51½' N., long. 129° 5' W.

Description.—A group flashing white light.

Remarks.—The light has been discontinued, and is to be expunged from the charts.

QUEEN CHARLOTTE SOUND.—NEW CHANNEL.—EXISTENCE OF A ROCK.

Position (approximate).—At a distance of 19¼ cables, 106° (N. 80° E. mag.), from the extremity of Greeting Point, Nigei Island ; lat. 50° 54½' N., long. 127° 41' W.

Depth.—1½ fathoms.

Variation.—26° E.

UNITED STATES.

NEW YORK.—HUDSON RIVER.—CATSKILL WEST FLAT LIGHT. —CHARACTERISTICS CHANGED.

On 12th September, 1919, the characteristics of Catskill West Flat light was changed to flashing green every 3 seconds —flash 1 second, eclipse 2 seconds.

The light is exhibited 27 ft. above the water from a black pyramidal skeleton tower, with white tankhouse in the lower section, on a square concrete base on the site of the former post.

Approx. position : 42° 12' 55" N., 73° 51' 18" W.

PANAMA.

LIMON BAY.—TORO POINT LIGHTHOUSE.—COLOUR TO BE CHANGED.

About 1st October, 1919, the colour of Toro Point Lighthouse will be changed from white and red to white.

Owing to the dark background it is believed that the tower will be more conspicuous if painted all white.

Approx. position : 9° 22' 31" N., 79° 57' 5" W.

CANAL.

RONCADOR BANK LIGHT “U” RELIGHTED.

Roncador Bank light “U,” previously reported out of commission, was relighted on 4th September, 1919.

WESTERN AUSTRALIA.

SOUTH-WEST COAST.—CAPE NATURALISTE LIGHT.—TO BE REPLACED BY TEMPORARY LIGHT.

Period of Replacement.—From about 15th October to 15th November, 1919.

Position.—Lat. 33° 32' S., long. 115° 1½' E.

Details.—During the above period the existing group flashing white light will be discontinued for repair, and replaced by a temporary light of the undermentioned description :— A group flashing white light showing two flashes every six seconds, thus—flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 1 sec. ; flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 4⅓ secs.

Remarks.—The temporary light will have a power of 1,500 candles and a visibility of 10 miles.

Note.—No further notice will be given.

MEDITERRANEAN.

ITALY, CALABRIA COAST.—CAPE SPARTIVENTO LIGHT. — ALTERATION IN CHARACTER.

Position.—Lat. 37° 55½' N., long. 16° 3⅜' E.

New Abridged Description.—Lt. gp. fl. (2), ev. 30 secs., 210 ft., vis. 21 m.

Alteration.—The character of the light has been altered from flashing white to group flashing white showing two flashes every thirty seconds, thus—flash 0.6 sec., eclipse 6.9 secs. ; flash 0.6 sec., eclipse 21.9 secs.

SPAIN, SOUTH-EAST COAST.—CAPE OROPESA LIGHT. — ALTERATION IN CHARACTER.

Position.—Lat. 40° 5' N., long. 0° 8⅜' E.

New Abridged Description.—Lt. F. gp. fl. (3), ev. 30 secs., 74 ft., vis. 14 m.

Alteration.—The character of the light has been altered from fixed and flashing white to fixed and group flashing white showing three flashes every thirty seconds, thus—flash 0.3 sec., eclipse 5.7 secs. ; flash 0.3 sec., eclipse 5.7 secs. ; flash 0.3 sec., eclipse 1.8 secs. ; fixed 14.1 secs., eclipse 1.8 secs.

Remarks.—The light has a visibility of 14 miles.

MALACCA STRAIT.

PENANG HARBOUR.—SHOAL REPORTED.

Position.—Lat. 5° 21' 47' N., long. 100° 21' 10" E.

Depth.—About 2 fathoms.

Note.—The shoal is to be marked “Repd. (1919)” on the charts.
