2nd Lieutenant James Charteris is dismissed His Majesty's Service by sentence of a Field-General Court-martial. Dated 20th September, 1919.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Board of the Tamaki West Road District, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

TAMAKI WEST ROAD BOARD.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Tamaki West Road District taken on the 6th day of November, 1919, on the proposal of the Tamaki West Road Board to borrow £3,000 for the following objects :—

£
Purchasing and laying mains and other work, and contingencies and engineering charges, in connection with extending the water-supply service .. .. .. .. 2,000
Erecting and completing additions to the present public office of the Board .. .. .. 400
Erecting and completing a caretaker's residence on the recreation reserve at St. Helier's Bay .. 600
£3,000

the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 167, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 56; informal, 6.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Tamaki West Road District taken on the 6th day of November, 1919, on the proposal of the Tamaki West Road Board to borrow £9,000 for the following objects :—

Purchasing and erecting buildings, plant, machinery, and mains and other necessary work, and contingencies and engineering charges, in connection with obtaining and installing a supply of electricity for the district: £9,000

the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 200, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 26 ; informal, 3.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

STRATFORD COUNTY COUNCIL.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice—

  1. That at a poll held on the 4th November, 1919, on the proposal to raise a loan of £12,000 for road-improvement and purchase of machinery for the eastern part of the North Riding, the number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal was 66, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 18.

  2. That at a poll held on the 4th November, 1919, on the proposal to raise a loan of £21,000 for road-improvement and purchase of machinery for the South Riding, the number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal was 68, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 16.

  3. That at a poll held on the 4th November, 1919, on the proposal to raise a loan of £35,000 for road-improvement and purchase of machinery for the East Riding, the number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal was 117, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 10.

  4. That at a poll held on the 4th November, 1919, on the proposal to raise a loan of £22,000 for road-improvement and purchase of machinery for the West Riding, the number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal was 94, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 5.

There being in each case the requisite three-fifths majority in favour of the proposal, I hereby declare the proposal to be carried in each riding.

Date of Election to fill Extraordinary Vacancy on the Woolston Fire Board by Fire-insurance Companies.

Wellington, 15th November, 1919.
PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1909, and the rules made thereunder, I, John Bird Hine, Minister of Internal Affairs, being the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act, do hereby appoint Thursday, the 27th November, 1919, to be the date for holding the election of one member of the Woolston Fire Board by the fire-insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill an extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. H. S. Batchelor.
