Land reserved under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), a Scenery Preservation Board is constituted, and it is enacted that such Board shall, when so directed by the Minister charged for the time being with the administration of the said Act, inspect any lands possessing scenic or historic interest, or on which there are thermal springs, and make inquiries respecting the same, and report to the Governor-General; and shall from time to time recommend what lands, whether Crown or private, shall be permanently reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves: And whereas the said Board was duly directed to inspect and report on the land described in the Schedule hereunder, and has recommended that the said land should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereunder shall be a scenic reserve under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and subject to the provisions thereof.

SCHEDULE.

EVERETT ROAD SCENIC RESERVE.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 166 acres, being the whole of Sections 13, 18, and 19 of Block XIII, Waitara Survey District, and bounded as follows:—

Section 13 (northern portion), containing by admeasurement 46 acres 3 roods, more or less. Bounded on the north by Section 182, Block XIV, Waitara Survey District; 2008 links; on the east generally by River Bank Road; on the south by road, 635·8 links; and on the west by Everett Road, 3014·7 and 757·2 links.

Section 13 (southern portion), containing by admeasurement 20 acres 1 rood, more or less. Bounded on the north by a road, 747 links; on the east generally by River Bank Road; and on the south and west by Everett Road, 189, 356·8, and 1201 links.

Sections 18 and 19, containing by admeasurement 99 acres, more or less. Bounded on the north and east generally by River Bank Road; on the south generally by the Bristol Road, 3520 links; and on the west by Everett Road, 3798·2, 95·8, 853·5, and 2112·5 links.

Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 39502, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged pink.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Member of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Knight of Justice of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this fifteenth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

ALL that area in the Marlborough Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods 20 perches, more or less, being Section 13 (originally part of Section 6A), Block VII, Linkwater Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Whenuanui Bay; towards the south by remaining portion of Section 6A, Block VII aforesaid, 412 links; and towards the west by Section 13, Block XI, Linkwater Survey District, aforesaid, and the abutment of a reserve along the coast, 405·6, 336, and 80 links.

Also all that area in the Marlborough Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood, more or less, being Section 14 (originally part of Section 6A), Block VII, Linkwater Survey District. Bounded towards the east and north-east by the abutment of a reserve along the coast, and by Section 12, Block VII aforesaid, 80, 232·8, and 377·5 links; towards the south-east by remaining portion of Section 6A, Block VII aforesaid, 101·6 and 170·2 links; and towards the west generally by Whenuanui Bay.

Also all that area in the Marlborough Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods 30 perches, more or less, being Section 15 (originally part of Section 6A), Block VII, Linkwater Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Section 13, Block XI, Linkwater Survey District, 390·5 and 300 links; towards the south-east by Section 13 aforesaid, 466·7 links; towards the west generally by a public road, 14·8, 188·8, 78·6, 62·4, 41·1, 160·8, 109, 97·2, 110·6, 86·2, 101·4, 48, and 69·9 links.

Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same are delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 649c, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section eleven of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consents of the lessee of the land described in the Schedule hereto, and of the Hokianga County Council, being the local authority in whose district the said land is situated, proclaim as a road the land described in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land proclaimed as a road: 9 perches.

Being Section 21, Block V, Waoku Survey District.
