Constituting the Southland Electric-power District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is provided by section three of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, that any area or areas of land may be constituted an electric-power district or outer area of such district under the said Act, and in the manner therein provided :

And whereas a petition praying that the area described in Part I of the First Schedule hereto may be constituted an electric-power district under the said Act, and that the area described in the Third Schedule hereto may be constituted an outer area of such electric-power district, and also a further petition praying that the boundaries of the proposed electric-power district be altered so as to include the area described in Part II of the First Schedule hereto, were presented to the Governor-General on the fifth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen :

And whereas such petitions were publicly notified in the Southland Times dated the eighteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, and the Tapanui Courier dated the twenty-fourth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, respectively, being newspapers circulating in the proposed electric-power district :

And whereas after due inquiry the Governor-General is of opinion that the petitions should be granted subject to the proposed boundaries of the district being altered as herein-after appears :

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section three of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, do hereby alter the proposed boundaries and proclaim the district with the altered boundaries as described in the Second Schedule hereto to be an electric-power district, and I hereby assign to such district the name of the “Southland Electric-power District”; and I do further proclaim that the area described in the Third Schedule hereto shall be an outer area of such electric-power district.

FIRST SCHEDULE.
PART I.

THE areas comprised within the boundaries of the Counties of Southland and Wallace, inclusive of the Boroughs of Invercargill, South Invercargill, Gore, Riverton, Winton, Mataura, and Bluff, and the Town Districts of Wyndham, Otautau, Lumsden, Edendale, and Nightcaps.

PART II.

All that area bounded as follows: Commencing at the junction of the Southland and Clutha Counties at the Leithen Burn, in the Greenvale Survey District; thence follow that burn west and south to the Pomahaka River; thence north along the Pomahaka River to the north-west corner of Section 34 of Block VI of said district; thence east along the northern boundary of said Section 34; thence north along the western boundaries of Sections 34, 23, 26, and 27 of the Moa Flat Estate to the most northerly point of said Section 27; thence in a south-easterly direction along the boundary between Sections 27 and 28 of said estate to the Moa Flat—Ettrick Road; thence following that road south-west to the north-western corner of Section 16 of said estate; thence eastward and north-eastward along the boundary-line between Sections 1, 2, and 3 on the northern side and Sections 16, 15, 14, and 4 of said estate on the southern side to the Lawrence—Roxburgh Road; thence south-east to the north-eastern boundary of Section 5 of said estate; thence west and south along the boundary between Sections 4 and 5 of said estate; thence north-east along the boundary between Sections 7 and 5 of said estate; thence south along the boundary between Sections 7 and 6 and between Sections 8 and 6 of said estate to the most northerly point of Section 8, Block XVII, Crookston Survey District; thence following the boundary of Block XVII, Crookston Survey District, first south-east, thence due east, thence due south to the south-eastern corner of Section 12, Block XVII of said district; thence west along the south boundary of Sections 12 and 13 of said Block XVII to the north-eastern corner of Section 3, Block XIII, Crookston Survey District; thence due south following the east boundary of Blocks XIII
