Prohibiting the Export of Intoxicating Liquor to Western Samoa.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this seventeenth day of November, 1919.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
HIS Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting in exercise of the authority conferred upon him by section forty-seven of the Customs Act, 1913, and by section twenty-four of the Regulation of Trade and Commerce Act, 1914, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of that Dominion, doth hereby prohibit the exportation of intoxicating liquor from the said Dominion to the islands of Western Samoa now in the military occupation of His Majesty’s Forces; and doth declare that the term “intoxicating liquor” as used in this Order means alcohol and any liquor containing alcohol, but does not include—
(a.) Perfumery or medicinal preparations containing spirit:
(b.) Methylated spirit and other preparations containing spirit but not suitable for human consumption:
(c.) Fermented or other liquor containing less than three per centum of proof spirit.
