Land taken for the Purposes of widening Clarence Street, Vogeltown, in the City of Wellington.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, for a certain public work—to wit, for the purposes of widening Clarence Street, Vogeltown, in the City of Wellington:
And whereas the Wellington City Council has laid before the Governor-General a memorial, accompanied by a map in duplicate, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of widening the said street, and shall vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Wellington as from the date hereinafter mentioned; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the eighth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 9 perches.
Portion of Section 15 and part of Lot 65 (D.P. 52) (Ohiro R.D.), City of Wellington, Block X, Port Nicholson Survey District.
In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W D. 46658, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon bordered red.

Authorizing Special Investment of £2,500 of the Public Trust Office Funds.

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this thirteenth day of October, 1919.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Taranaki Hospital and Charitable Aid Board (hereinafter called “the said Board”), incorporated under the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, has applied to the Public Trustee for a loan of two thousand five hundred pounds:
And whereas the said Board, as security for the said loan, has agreed to enter into a deed of covenant with the said the Public Trustee that a contribution will be levied annually under the provisions of section forty-one of the said Act for the full amount of interest and principal payable by the said Board to the said the Public Trustee for the year (such security being referred to herein as “the said security”):
And whereas the said security is not one authorized by the Public Trust Office Act, 1908:
And whereas by section ninety-one of the Public Revenues Act, 1910, it is enacted that it shall be lawful to invest any part of the balance of the Public Trust Office Account in any security which shall be declared by the Governor-General by Order in Council to be securities in which such balance may be invested:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General in and for the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that it shall be lawful for the Public Trustee to invest out of the balance of the Public Trust Office Account the said sum of two thousand five hundred pounds.

Consenting to stopping Portions of Road in Block IX, Waihua Survey District, Wairoa County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this twentieth day of October, 1919.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and thirty-three (a) of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is enacted that a local authority shall not declare any county road or district road to be stopped until the consent thereto of the Governor-General, by Order in Council gazetted, is obtained:
And whereas the Wairoa County Council has applied for such consent in respect of the road described in the Schedule hereto:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the above-in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the Wairoa County Council stopping the portions of road described in the Schedule hereto.
