SPECIAL CONDITIONS.
- The lessee shall within one year from the date of the lease establish upon the land not less than twenty-five colonies of bees, and within two years from the date of the lease not less than fifty colonies in all; and shall thereafter at all times during the term of the lease maintain upon the land not less than fifty colonies in all, and manage and work the land under his own personal conduct and supervision as an apiary according to the best principles of bee-keeping, and to the satisfaction of the apiary experts of the Department of Agriculture.
Any failure to do so will be treated as a breach of the conditions of the lease, rendering it liable to forfeiture. - Applicants will be required to produce evidence that they have previously been practically engaged in bee-keeping, or that they have undergone a full course of instruction in the same.

Land in the Canterbury Land District for Sale or Lease to Discharged Soldiers.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands are open for sale or lease under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and the regulations thereunder; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Monday, the 24th November, 1919.
The lands may be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or selected on lease for thirty-three years, with right of renewal for further successive terms of thirty-three years and a right to acquire the freehold.
Applicants must appear personally before the Land Board for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, the 26th November, 1919, at 10 o'clock a.m.
The ballot will be held at the conclusion of the examination of applicants.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Otway Settlement.—Ohinemuri County.—Waitoa Survey District.
SECTION 13, Block VII : Area, 10 acres; capital value, £150; annual instalment on deferred payment (excluding interest), £7 10s.; half-yearly rent on lease, £3 7s. 6d.
Situated in south-west corner of Section 7, Otway Settlement. Access from Waihou, six miles and a half distant by formed road, five miles of which is metalled. Level land in grass. Light sandy loam resting on clay formation. Water easily obtained by sinking.

New Park Settlement is situated about twelve miles from Ashburton Railway-station. All good, flat, agricultural land, in grass and stubble or crop. Watered by water-races.
IMPROVEMENTS.
Section 4 is weighted with £15 for a shed at present on the homestead block, and Section 7 with £30 for a cottage at present on the homestead block. These may be paid for either in cash or out of advances.
Section 2 is weighted with £85 for 31 acres of oats. Section 3 is weighted with £88 for 32 acres of oats. Section 4 is weighted with £252 for 84 acres of oats. Section 5 is weighted with £21 for 7 acres of oats. These may be paid for in cash or out of advances.
The improvements that go with the land are for boundary and interior fencing valued as follows : Section 1, 160 chains, £39 ; Section 2, 121 chains, £28 ; Section 3, 127 chains, £38 ; Section 4, 100 chains, £31 ; Section 5, 123 chains, £32 ; Section 7, 224 chains, £57.

NOTICE is hereby given, under section 326 of the Land Act, 1908, that Section 13, Block X, Makotuku Survey District, containing 1 acre 3 roods 36 perches, will be disposed of under the provisions of the said Act on or after Wednesday, the 17th day of December, 1919.
