All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to, or petitions against, the proposed alteration which they desire to lodge, within one month from the first publication of this notice; such objections or petitions should be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

AREA TO BE INCLUDED IN BOROUGH OF DEVONPORT.

ALL that area in the Takapuna Borough, being Lot V and part of Lot VII of Section 1, Parish of Takapuna, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the south-eastern corner of Lot VIII of Section 1, Parish of Takapuna; thence towards the south-west by part of the north-eastern boundary of said Lot VIII; thence towards the north-west by the south-eastern boundary of Subdivision 36 of Lot VII of Section 1, Parish of Takapuna; thence towards the south-west by part of the north-eastern boundary of the said Subdivision 36 for a distance of 200 links; thence towards the north-west by a line bearing 75° for a distance of 450 links to the main road from Devonport to Waiwera; thence towards the north-west by a right line across the said road to the south-western corner of Lot VI of Section 1, Parish of Takapuna; thence towards the north-west by the southern boundary of said Lot VI and its production to the low-water mark of the sea; thence towards the east by said low-water mark to the northern boundary of the Borough of Devonport; thence towards the south-east by the said northern boundary to the point of commencement: be the aforesaid bearing and linkages more or less.

Result of Election of a Member of the Dargaville Fire Board by Fire-insurance Companies.

Result of Election of a Member of the Auckland Fire Board by Fire-insurance Companies.

THE following result of the election of a member of the Auckland Fire Board by fire-insurance companies has been reported to the Minister of Internal Affairs, and is notified in accordance with the rules under the Fire Brigades Act, 1908.

Date of Election to fill Extraordinary Vacancy on the Rotorua Fire Board by Fire-insurance Companies.

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1909, and the rules made thereunder, I, John Bird Hine, Minister of Internal Affairs, being the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act, do hereby appoint Thursday, the 2nd October, 1919, to be the date for holding the election of one member of the Rotorua Fire Board by the fire-insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill an extraordinary vacancy caused by the death of Mr. H. H. Marshall.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Council of the Borough of Kaitangata, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

BOROUGH OF KAITANGATA.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Kaitangata was taken on the 8th day of September, 1919, on the proposal of the Kaitangata Borough Council to borrow the sum of £650 for the purpose of making a culvert to act as a bridge and flood lock in the Kaitangata Creek, the site of the culvert to be on the intersection of the creek and Exemouth Street; and to make an annually recurring special rate of 1½d. in the pound on the annual value of all rateable property in the said borough as security for the interest and repayments in connection with such loan. The whole loan is repayable at the expiration of thirty-six years and a half from the date of raising the loan. It is not proposed to pay out of the loan-money the cost of raising the loan or the first year’s interest of the loan.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 25, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 6.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

CAMBRIDGE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Cambridge was taken on the 9th day of September, 1919, on the proposal of the Cambridge Borough Council to borrow the sum of £5,000 for certain public works in this borough, and the following were the results of the voting, viz.:

Part No. 1.—Road construction and plant, £2,000: For the proposal, 152; against the proposal, 44.

Part No. 2.—Footpaths and drainage, £2,500: For the proposal, 142; against the proposal, 49.

Part No. 3.—Ladies’ rest-room, £300: For the proposal, 161; against the proposal, 34.

Part No. 4.—Landing-stage and shed, £200: For the proposal, 157; against the proposal, 37.

I therefore declare each of the several proposals carried.

FEATHERSTON COUNTY COUNCIL.

Result of Loan Proposals.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the County of Featherston was taken on the 5th day of September, 1919, on the proposals of the Featherston County Council to borrow the following loans as hereunder mentioned:—

(1.) The sum of £11,000 for reconstructing, laying down in water-bound macadam, and tar-sealing that portion of the district road lying between the Borough of Featherston and the Town District of Martinborough.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 161, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 138; informal, 10.

I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

(2.) The sum of £6,500 for the purchase of road-making machinery and plant and housing-accommodation for same.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 209, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 96; informal, 4.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
