THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
No. 114
(c.) Any alien enemy whose arrest has been authorized by a military
or naval authority under the War Regulations even though he
has not been actually arrested:
(d.) Any person who at a time while he was a prisoner of war as
above defined has been deported from or has otherwise left
New Zealand, whether before or after the making of these
regulations.

Clause 18 of the said regulations and clause 2 of the amending
regulations of the 12th day of May, 1919 (defining the term “prisoner
of war”), are hereby revoked. -
All appointments now in force of the Public Trustee as the
custodian of the property of prisoners of war under the said regulations
shall remain in full force and effect. -
The Public Trustee, as the custodian of the property of a prisoner
of war, shall have full authority in his absolute discretion to make to or
for the benefit of that prisoner of war or his wife or children such pay-
ments or dispositions of moneys in the hands of the Public Trustee and
belonging to that prisoner of war as the Public Trustee thinks expedient
and proper. -
So long as the Public Trustee acts in good faith in the exercise
of the powers, duties, and trusts conferred or imposed upon him as the
custodian of the property of a prisoner of war he shall be under no
civil liability either to that prisoner or to any creditor of that prisoner,
or to any other person whomsoever, in respect of the administration or
disposition of such property.
