the meaning of the said Act are published for general information:—

IT is hereby notified for public information that the
Minister of Defence has cancelled the appointment
of the following Soldiers' Property Boards of Trustees,
namely:—
The F. G. Leahy Soldiers' Property Board of Trustees,
as gazetted on the 30th August, 1917.
The John Birmingham Soldiers' Property Board of
Trustees, as gazetted on 29th November, 1917.
The F.J. Hodges Soldiers' Property Board of Trustees,
as gazetted on 30th August, 1917.

Notice to Mariners.—No. 57 of 1919.
Re ADMIRALTY ROUTE WARNINGS.
Marine Department,
Wellington, N.Z., 29th August, 1919.
IN reference to Notice to Mariners No. 37 of the 14th July,
1919, the Admiralty have now notified in Route Warning
General Number 8, that as a rule route warnings will not be
sent in future to areas outside the Atlantic, Mediterranean,
and North European waters except Aden.
Masters are advised therefore that they will no longer be
able to obtain mine-warning information from the Marine
Department, but should apply as early as possible at one of
the offices mentioned in Notice to Mariners No. 37 of 1919.

Notice to Mariners.—No. 58 of 1919.
ADMIRALTY INFORMATION re MINE-FIELDS.
Marine Department,
Wellington, N.Z., 2nd September, 1919.
WITH reference to New Zealand Notice to Mariners No.
37 of 1919 (compulsory routeing of merchant vessels
will cease on 28th July), the British Admiralty have now
cabled the following information :—
All British route-giving offices will be closed by 1st October,
1919, and masters of merchant vessels will then obtain Mine
Warnings to Mariners in the same way as they obtain Admiralty Notices to Mariners or other navigational information
by the same channels as are usual in peace-time.
The dates of closing are as follows :—
6th September, 1919, for all shipping intelligence offices
in the United Kingdom.
15th September, 1919, for Gibraltar, Malta, and Port Said.
30th September, 1919, for all other route-giving offices
except Constantinople, which remains open for vessels
bound to the Black Sea.
The “Downs” routeing service closes on 30th September,
1919. The arrangements given in par. (3) of Admiralty
Notice to Mariners 1275 of 1919 will cease on that date.
The Admiralty have further cabled the following :—
Route warning, North and South Atlantic combined,
No. 1 : Cancel all previous North Atlantic and South
Atlantic route warnings.
Mine Warning No. 272 :-
(a.) Cancels Mine Warnings Nos. 170 (see N.Z. Notice
No. 34), 242, and 253 ;
(b.) Declares New Zealand mine-fields clear; and
(c.) Clears the whole of the North Atlantic Zone, and
the South Atlantic, Indian Ocean, Red Sea, and
Pacific Zones.
