Proclaiming a Road-line laid out through Subdivisions of
Taumataoteo Block to be a Public Road.

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS the parcel of land described in the Schedule
hereto was, by an order of the Native Land Court
made on the nineteenth day of October, one thousand nine
hundred and eleven, duly laid out as a road-line in pursuance
of section one hundred and seventeen of the Native Land
Act, 1909 :

And whereas by section two of the Native Land Amend-
ment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1918, it is
provided that where any road-line has heretofore been laid
out under the said section one hundred and seventeen and
has not been proclaimed as a public road, then such road-
line may be proclaimed as a public road under section forty-
eight of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913, subject,
however, to the conditions prescribed by section fifty-one of
the last-mentioned Act and section fifteen of the Native
Land Amendment Act, 1914 :

And whereas the said Court is of the opinion that in the
public interest the said road-line should be proclaimed as a
public road, and a notification to that effect has been
forwarded to the Minister of Lands, in terms of section
fifty-one of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913 :

And whereas one month’s notice in writing of the intention
to proclaim the said road-line as a public road has been given
by the Surveyor-General to the local authority of the district
concerned, in terms of section fifteen of the Native Land
Amendment Act, 1914 :

And whereas it is now expedient that the said road-line
should be proclaimed as a public road :

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred
by section forty-eight of the Native Land Amendment Act,
1913, do hereby proclaim as a public road the road-line
described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the road-line proclaimed: 11 acres
2 roods 23 perches.

Portion of Taumataoteo Block, situated in Block V, Clyde
Survey District.

In the Hawke’s Bay Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 11/600,
deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and
Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured pink.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, Member of His Majesty’s
Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint
Michael and Saint George, Knight Grand Cross
of the Most Excellent Order of the British
Empire, Member of the Royal Victorian Order,
Knight of Grace of the Order of Saint John of
Jerusalem, Governor-General and Commander-
in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion
of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and
issued under the Seal of the said Dominion,
at the Government House at Wellington, this
fourteenth day of August, in the year of our Lord
one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Declaring Lands set apart as Scenic Reserves under the Land Act, 1892, to be subject to the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the lands described in the first column of the Schedule hereto were by Warrants, the dates of which
are specified in the second column of the said Schedule and the notifications of which were published in the
Gazettes specified in the third column, permanently set apart as reserves for scenic purposes under the provisions of the
Land Act, 1892 : And whereas it is expedient that the said lands should be declared reserves under the Scenery Preservation
Act, 1908 :

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section twelve of the Scenery Preservation Amendment Act,
1910, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall, from and
after the date hereof, be scenic reserves under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and its amendments.
