Amendment of Coal Trade Regulations.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fifteenth day of August, 1919.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the fifth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, as amended by an Order in Council dated the twenty-eighth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, certain regulations known as the Coal Trade Regulations were made by the Governor-General in Council, pursuant to the War Regulations Amendment Act, 1916 :
And whereas, having regard to the conditions created by the recent war with Germany, it is deemed advisable to further amend those regulations in the manner hereinafter appearing :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of that Dominion, and in pursuance of the War Regulations Amendment Act, 1916, doth hereby make the regulations hereinafter set forth, and doth hereby declare that the regulations hereby made shall be read together with and deemed part of the Coal Trade Regulations hereinbefore referred to.
REGULATIONS.

NOTHING in these regulations shall applyβ
(a.) To any coal delivered pursuant to a permit issued by a Coal Trade Committee; or
(b.) To any coal delivered elsewhere than in an area within which these regulations have been declared by the Minister in Charge, by notice in the Gazette, to be in force. -
(1.) The Minister in Charge may, by notice in the Gazette, declare that these regulations shall be in force generally throughout New Zealand, or in such area or areas as may be specified in such notice.
(2.) Any notice issued by the Minister in Charge under this clause of these regulations may be in like manner revoked. -
Subject to the provisions of clause 1 of these regulations it shall not be lawful for any person to deliver or be concerned in the delivery of any bituminous or semi-bituminous coal to any person in any area in which these regulations are in force, unless at the same time he delivers to that person an equal quantity by weight of lignite, or such other proportion of lignite as the Minister in Charge may specify with respect to that area.

Notice under Clause 2 of Amending Coal Trade Regulations of 15th August, 1919.
IN pursuance of the powers conferred on me by clause 2 of the regulations of the 15th day of August, 1919, amending the Coal Trade Regulations, I hereby declare that the said amending regulations shall, as from the 25th day of August, 1919, be in force in the area described in the Schedule hereto; and I do hereby notify accordingly that, subject to the provisions of those regulations, it shall not be lawful after the date aforesaid for any person to deliver or be concerned in the delivery within the said area of any bituminous or semi-bituminous coal except with at least an equal quantity by weight of lignite.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area comprising the City of Christchurch, the Boroughs of Riccarton, Spreydon, Woolston, Sumner, and New Brighton, and all portions of the Counties of Paparoa, Halswell, Heathcote, and Waimairi that are within ten miles of Cathedral Square, in the City of Christchurch.

Notice under Clause 2 of Amending Coal Trade Regulations of 15th August, 1919.
IN pursuance of the powers conferred on me by clause 2 of the regulations of the 15th day of August, 1919, amending the Coal Trade Regulations, I hereby declare that the said amending regulations shall, as from the 25th day of August, 1919, be in force in the Dunedin Coal Trade District, being the area described in the Schedule hereto; and I do hereby notify that, subject to the provisions of those regulations, it shall not be lawful after the date aforesaid for any person to deliver or be concerned in the delivery within the said district of any bituminous or semi-bituminous coal except with a quantity of lignite being not less than six times by weight the quantity of hard coal.
SCHEDULE.
DUNEDIN COAL TRADE DISTRICT.
ALL that area comprising the City of Dunedin, the Counties of Waitaki, Vincent, Maniototo, Waihemo, Waikouaiti, Taieri, Tuapeka, Bruce, and Clutha; and all boroughs and town districts included within the exterior boundaries of the said counties.
