THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

of land adjacent to the land set apart under that Act as aforesaid, the acquisition of which is, in the opinion of the Governor-General, necessary for the more effective carrying-out of the drainage or other works authorized by the first-mentioned Act or for the better disposal of land so set apart:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is adjacent to the land set apart under the Hauraki Plains Act, 1908, and the Governor-General has, in terms of subsection one of section nine of that Act, expressed the opinion that the acquisition of the land described in the Schedule hereto is necessary for the more effective carrying-out of the drainage or other works authorized by such Act, or for the better disposal of Crown land set apart by the Hauraki Plains Act, 1908:

And whereas an agreement has been entered into, in terms of section twenty-seven of the Public Works Act, 1908, to take such land for the public work hereinafter set forth:

And whereas a plan has been prepared, and the Minister has recommended the Governor-General to issue a Proclamation taking the land as required by the Public Works Act, 1908:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Hauraki Plains Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, and being satisfied of the sufficiency of the said agreement, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the more effective carrying-out of the said drainage and other works, as authorized by the Hauraki Plains Act, 1908, or for the better disposal of Crown land set apart by that Act, and shall vest in His Majesty the King as from the date hereinafter mentioned; and I do also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the eighteenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 3 roods 18 perches.

Portion of Horahia Opou 4B No. 1.

Situated in Block II, Waihou Survey District (S.O. 20134).

In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 44926, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged pink.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Member of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Knight of Grace of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this fourth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Land taken for the Purposes of a Road in Block XIII, Waingaromia Survey District, Waikohu County.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, for a certain public work—to wit, for the purposes of a road in Block XIII, Waingaromia Survey District:

And whereas the Waikohu County Council has laid before the Governor-General a memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Counties Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 5 acres 2 roods. Being portion of Paraeroa No. 2B (Poverty Bay R.D.), Block XIII, Waingaromia Survey District.

In the Hawke’s Bay Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 45284, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Member of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Knight of Grace of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this fourth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, for a certain public work—to wit, for the purposes of a Native school in Block II, Takapau Survey District.

And whereas all the conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been observed and performed:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a Native school; and I do also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the eighteenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.
