Declaring Land in the Canterbury Land District to be subject
to the Land for Settlements Act, 1908.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section seventy-nine of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the area of Crown land described in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and shall hereafter form part of the Lees Valley Settlement.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area of land, being part of Section 2 of Snowdale Subdivision and adjoining the Lees Valley Settlement, Lees Valley District, Canterbury Land District. Area, about 800 acres.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this fifth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by section four of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

to be a trustee, in the place of Alexander McLennan, deceased, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Palmerston Public Cemetery, in conjunction with James Cock Walton Gilmore, George Sutherland, James Kitchen, William Robertson, John Munrc McKenzie, William McGregor, William McLeod, and Donald Sutherland, previously appointed.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this sixth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the fourth section of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

to be a trustee, in the place of John Purvis, deceased, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Mangamingi Public Cemetery, in conjunction with John Granville, Edwin Berridge, Albert Turner, and Joseph Best, previously appointed.

Amending Regulations for Ordnance Services, New Zealand Military Forces.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority conferred on me by the Defence Act, 1909, and its amendments, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke and amend, in the manner and to the extent set forth in the Schedule hereto, the regulations for Ordnance Services made on the twenty-third day of January, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen; and I do hereby declare that the revocation and amendments hereby made shall take effect as from the date of publication thereof in the Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
REGULATIONS FOR ORDNANCE SERVICES.
(1.) Section V.—Supply and Receipt of Stores and Clothing.
II. Receipt of Stores.
PARAGRAPH 178 is hereby revoked, and the following regulation substituted in lieu thereof :—
“178. Stores will not be converted to produce or rubbish by Ordnance Officers until such stores have been condemned by a Board of Survey, but the D. of E. and O.S. may authorize destruction or conversion to produce of stores rendered unserviceable through fair wear-and-tear and returned by troops.”
(2.) Section VIII.—Receiving, Issuing, and Accounting.
II. Issuing Stores.
Paragraph 246 is hereby amended by deleting the word “left-hand,” and substituting therefor the word “right-hand.”

Appointing a Member of the Patea Harbour Board.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
WHEREAS it is provided by section seventeen of the Harbours Amendment Act, 1910, that the office of any member of a Harbour Board shall become vacant if, inter alia, he resigns his office by writing under his hand delivered to the Secretary or Chairman of the Board :
And whereas it is provided by subsection two of section eighteen of the said Act that when an elective member other than a representative of a constituent district vacates his office on the Board through the operation of the said section seventeen, the Governor may, by Warrant under his hand, appoint some qualified person in his place :
And whereas Charles D. Dickie, an elective member of the Patea Harbour Board, being representative of the combined district of the Patea Borough and the Waverley Town District Subdivision of the harbour district, has resigned his seat, and it is desirable to appoint a qualified person as representative of that district in his place :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, doth hereby appoint
HAROLD GALT DICKIE, of Waverley,
to be a member of the Patea Harbour Board as a representative of the combined district of the Patea Borough and the Waverley Town District Subdivision of the harbour district, in place of Charles D. Dickie.

Revoking Appointment of Public Trustee as Administrator of an Estate under the Reformatory Institutions Act, 1909.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by section thirty-seven of the Reformatory Institutions Act, 1909, it is enacted that when an order has been made against any person (whether before or after the commencement of that Act) for her detention in an institution, the Public Trustee may be appointed as the administrator or interim curator of her estate, in accordance with Part III of the Prisons Act, 1908, and all the provisions of sections fifty-five to seventy-five of that Act shall, so long as the order of detention remains in force, apply to that person accordingly in the same manner in which those provisions apply to persons imprisoned :
And whereas by section fifty-five of the Prisons Act, 1908, it is provided that every such appointment may be revoked by the same or the like authority by which it is made :
And whereas by Warrant dated the thirteenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, the Public Trustee was appointed to be the administrator of the estate of Ethel Maud Hampton, an inmate of the certified Inebriates’ Home, situate at Pakatoa Island :
And whereas it is expedient to revoke the said appointment :
