Special Sitting of the Native Land Court at Gisborne.

NOTICE is hereby given that a special sitting of the Native Land Court will be held at Gisborne on the 25th day of July, 1918, or as soon thereafter as the business of the Court will allow, to hear and determine the matters referred to in an application by Messrs. Chrisp and Coleman on behalf of certain Natives, a copy of which application is set out in the Schedule hereto, for which purpose an Order in Council has been made and issued by His Excellency the Governor-General, and gazetted on the 27th day of June, 1918.

SCHEDULE.

Re TANGIHANGA 1A.

Some difficulty has arisen in connection with the administration and distribution of a trust fund of £8,500 created in connection with the above-mentioned block of land, situate in the Poverty Bay District.

The circumstances leading to the creation of the fund were as follows:—

(a.) In or about the year 1887 the Native owners of the Okahuatiu No. 1 Block, the Okahuatiu No. 2 Block, and the Tangihanga Block, all situated in the District of Poverty Bay, sold those lands, less a small area reserved thereout, and on sale thereof divers of the vendors did bring into a common fund their shares of purchase-money, and did entrust
