CHILE.

VALPARAISO.—WIRELESS TIME-SIGNALS ESTABLISHED.

Position.—Lat. 33° 1½′ S., long. 71° 38¾′ W.

Details.—Wireless time-signals are sent out daily, except on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, by the Hydrographic Office, commencing at 8 h. 12 m. 13·7 s. standard time, corresponding to 12 h. 55 m. 00 s. G.M.T., and continuing for 5 minutes. During this period every tick of the chronometer is transmitted except the 29th second of each minute and the last 10 seconds of each minute.

A dash at 8 h. 17 m. 13·7 s. standard time, corresponding to 13 h. 00 m. 00 s. G.M.T., indicates the end of the time-signals.

UNITED STATES.

PACIFIC COAST.—CALIFORNIA, SAN FRANCISCO BAY.—OAKLAND HARBOUR.—ALTERATION IN FOG-SIGNAL.

Position.—At the lighthouse on the outer end of the northern jetty at the entrance to San Antonio Creek. Lat. 37° 48′ N., long. 122° 19¾′ W.

Alteration.—The bell has been replaced by a horn, operated by compressed air, giving one blast every fifteen seconds, thus—blast 2 secs., silent 13 secs.

Remarks.—If the horn is disabled a bell will be sounded giving one stroke every five seconds.

ATLANTIC COAST.—NEW YORK UPPER BAY.—GOVERNOR’S ISLAND LIGHT-STATION.—AUXILIARY FOG-SIGNAL DISCONTINUED.

Position.—At Castle William. Lat. 40° 41½′ N., long. 74° 1¼′ W.

Details.—The auxiliary fog-bell at this light-station has been permanently discontinued.

The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1908.—Notice of Proposed Cancellation of Registry.

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to an application in that behalf made to me by the New Zealand Federated Lithographic and Letterpress Printers’ Machinists Industrial Association of Workers, registered number 679, situated at Dunedin, and in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred upon me by section 21 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1908, it is my intention to cancel the registration of that industrial association, after the expiration of six weeks from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, unless in the meantime cause is shown to the contrary, for the purpose of re-registering the said industrial association under the new name of the New Zealand Related Printing Trades Industrial Association of Workers.
