Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the Harbours Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke and determine the said-recited Order in Council of the twenty-seventh day of April, one thousand nine hundred and ten, and the rights and privileges thereby conferred, as from the twenty-seventh day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

Revoking Order in Council licensing Messrs. Currie and MacIntosh to use and occupy a Part of the Foreshore and Land below Low-water Mark at Waikawa as a Site for a Wharf.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fourth day of June, 1918.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the twenty-third day of November, one thousand nine hundred and four, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 96, of the first day of the following month, His Excellency the Governor in Council did, in pursuance of the provisions of the Harbours Act Amendment Act, 1883, license Alexander Currie and Archibald Wilson MacIntosh, trading under the style or firm of Currie and MacIntosh (hereinafter called “the licensees”), to use and occupy a part of the foreshore and land below low-water mark at Waikawa in order to construct thereon a wharf in accordance with plan marked M.D. 2758, and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, and upon and subject to the terms and conditions therein set forth :

And whereas the licensees have asked that the license be revoked, and it is desirable that this should be done :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the Harbours Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke and determine the said-recited Order in Council of the twenty-third day of November, one thousand nine hundred and four, and the rights and privileges thereby conferred, as from the first day of November, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities from the State Advances Office.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this tenth day of June, 1918.

Present :

THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section twenty-six, subsection one, of the Appropriation Act, 1915, it is provided that, notwithstanding any Act to the contrary, it shall not be lawful or competent for any local authority or for any Harbour Board, during the present war with Germany, to borrow or contract to borrow any money (otherwise than by way of bank overdraft within the limit of its powers, if any, in that behalf), whether from the State Advances Office or from any other source whatever, and whether in pursuance of a special Act or under any other authority whatever, without the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council :

And whereas application has been made for the consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the sums set opposite the names of the said local authorities respectively, for the several purposes specified in the said Schedule, from the State Advances Office :

And whereas it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council should issue :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the borrowing from the State Advances Office of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto for the purposes specified in the said Schedule. And it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Appropriation Act, 1915, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.


SCHEDULE.

Franklin County Council, £2,200 : For forming and metalling a portion of Mission Bush Road and a portion of Kahawai Road.

Horowhenua County Council, £500 : For constructing water-races.

Horowhenua County Council £1,000 : For road and bridge construction-works.

Kaitieke County Council, £1,500 : For reforming and metalling a portion of the main road in the Township of Raurimu.

Mauriceville County Council, £350 : For constructing a bridge over the Makakahi River at Kaiparoro.

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto, provided that the rate of interest at which the loans or any of them are to be raised shall in no case produce to the lender a return exceeding five and one-quarter pounds per centum per annum; and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Appropriation Act, 1915, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons set out in the Schedule hereto, being persons holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at the places set opposite their names in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations
