Arrangements for First Election, &c., Ohura Town District.

Wellington, 27th May, 1918.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Mr. J. WEMYSS ASKEW, of Ohura,

to be Returning Officer and person to prepare electors roll in connection with the first election of the Board of Commissioners of the Ohura Town District, as constituted under the Town Boards Act, 1908; also to appoint Monday, the 1st July, 1918, to be the day, and the Ohura County Council Chambers to be the place, for holding the election of such Board; and, further, to appoint Friday, the 12th July, 1918, at 7.30 p.m., to be the time, and the said Ohura County Council Chambers to be the place, for holding the first meeting of the Board of Commissioners so elected.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Blocks VI and X, Waipu Survey District, Whangarei County, for the Purposes of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Blocks VI and X, Waipu Survey District, Whangarei County; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Waipu, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Foxton Harbour Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

Foxton Harbour Board.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan under the Provisions of the Foxton Harbour Board Amendment Act, 1917.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Foxton Harbour District taken on the 21st day of May, 1918, on the proposal of the Foxton Harbour Board to borrow the sum of £16,000 for the purposes of—

(1.) The payment by the Board to His Majesty the King of the sum of £5,000, for the transfer of the lands and assets mentioned in section 8 of the Foxton Harbour Board Amendment Act, 1917;

(2.) The construction and purchase of a dredge, and the construction and performance of the works, or any of them, authorized by section 9 of the Foxton Harbour Board Amendment Act, 1917—

the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 1,368, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 25. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Public Service Stores Tender Board.—Supply and Delivery of Stores.

Wellington, 28th May, 1918.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary to the Board, Post and Telegraph Stores, Wellington, not later than 4 p.m. on Monday, the 17th June, 1918, for the supply and delivery at Tauranga, Whangarei, Mangapai or Opua, and Blenheim of cement, lime, drainpipes, bricks, &c., for the year ending 30th June, 1919.

Forms and conditions of tender may be obtained at the offices of the Public Works Department, Tauranga, Whangarei, Auckland, and Blenheim, or at the office of the Secretary to the Board, Wellington.

Public Service Stores Tender Board.—Supply and Delivery of Stores.

Wellington, 28th May, 1918.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary to the Board, Post and Telegraph Stores, Wellington, not later than 4 p.m. on Monday, the 17th June, 1918, for the supply and delivery at Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, Wellington, Gisborne, Wanganui, Napier, Stratford, New Plymouth, Nelson, Greymouth, and Invercargill of bricks, cement, lime, drainpipes, oils, spirits, &c., required by the New Zealand Government for the period ending 30th June, 1919.

Forms and conditions of tender for all places except New Plymouth and Wellington may be obtained at the local offices of the Public Works Department; at New Plymouth the forms may be obtained at the chief post-office, and at Wellington at the office of the Secretary to the Board.

I, WILLIAM FAIRCHILD MARSH, Returning Officer for the election of a member to the Hawke’s Bay Land Board, do hereby notify, in accordance with section 41 of the Land Act, 1908, and the regulations thereunder, the result of the poll taken by me on the 28th day of May, 1918, for the election of a member of the Hawke’s Bay Land Board to be as follows:—
