1916), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby extend for a further period of eighteen months the Order in Council dated the eleventh day of December, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and gazetted the fourteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, but only in so far as it affects the land specified in the Schedule hereto, prohibiting all alienations of such lands other than alienations in favour of the Crown.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, and by section one hundred and eleven of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913 (as amended by section eight of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1916), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby extend for a further period of eighteen months the Order in Council dated the eleventh day of December, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and gazetted the fourteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, prohibiting all alienations of the Native land specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienations in favour of the Crown.

WHEREAS the article known as “resine” is not specifically enumerated in the Tariff, and is, in the opinion of the Minister of Customs, a substitute for varnish within the meaning of section one hundred and thirty-five of the Customs Act, 1913 :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section one hundred and thirty-five of the Customs Act, 1913, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of that Dominion, doth hereby declare that resine shall be charged with duty at the rate of four shillings the gallon if the produce or manufacture of some part of the British Dominions, and four shillings and nine and three-fifths pence the gallon if not the produce or manufacture of such Dominions.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the twenty-fifth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and four, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 9, of the fourth day of the following month, John Bragg, of Stewart Island, was licensed under the Harbours Act, 1908 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), to occupy for a period of fourteen years from the twenty-fifth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and four, a part of the foreshore and land below low-water mark at North Arm, Paterson’s Inlet, Stewart Island, in order to construct thereon a wharf as shown on the plan marked M.D. 2684, and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington ;
