Boundaries of Special Rating Area.

All that area of land in the Matamata County bounded by a line commencing at a point on the right bank of the Wai-toa River at the intersection of Section 26 at its north-east corner, and following the river in a southerly direction to the north-west corner of Section 14, Matamata South; thence along the northern boundary of that section to the railway-line, which along in a southerly direction to the south-east corner of Section 7, Block II, Tepapa; thence along the south-eastern boundary of that section to the Waitoa River on its left bank; thence following the left bank of the river to the south-east corner of Section 57, Block XIII, Tepapa; thence along the south boundary of that section to the road, which along in a northerly direction to the south-west corner of Section 26, Richmond Downs East Subdivision, and along the north-western boundary of that section to the Wai toa River on its right bank, the point of commencement.

GISBORNE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—GISBORNE BOROUGH ADDITIONAL SEWERAGE AND WATERWORKS LOAN, 1918, OF £5,000.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Gisborne Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £5,000, authorized to be raised by the Gisborne Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, and called the Gisborne Borough Additional Sewerage and Waterworks Loan, 1918, £5,000, for completing—

(a.) Sewering the west end of the borough, and completing unfinished portions of Kaiti, Whataupoko, and borough, and also for adjustments to the present system;

(b.) Extension of the waterworks at Te Arai, and reinstatement of main pipe-line, Te Arai,—

the said Gisborne Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixteenth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Gisborne, comprising the whole of the Borough of Gisborne as defined in the New Zealand Gazette of 25th May, 1916, No. 62, folio 1794. And that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Gisborne was hereto affixed, by order of the Gisborne Borough Council, on the 7th day of May, 1918, in the presence of—

MANUNUI TOWN BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Manunui Town Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also other charges on a loan of one thousand pounds (£1,000), to be raised by the Manunui Town Board, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of reforming, widening, and metalling Maukauroa and Maire Roads, and a portion of Totara and other streets within the town district, the said Manunui Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of sixpence (6d.) in the pound upon the rateable value, on the basis of the annual value, of all rateable property within the whole of the Manunui Town District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above resolution is a true copy of and extract from the minutes of the proceedings of the Manunui Town Board as passed at a meeting of the said Board at Manunui on the 10th day of December, 1917.

TE RAPA DRAINAGE BOARD.

RESOLUTION PASSED AT A DULY CONSTITUTED MEETING OF THE TE RAPA DRAINAGE BOARD HELD AT HAMILTON, 15TH MAY, 1918.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Te Rapa Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of five hundred pounds (£500), authorized to be raised by the Te Rapa Drainage Board, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of improving existing drains and making new ones, the said Te Rapa Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of five-sixteenths of a penny in the pound on lands classified “A,” three-sixteenths of a penny in the pound on lands classified “B,” and one-sixteenth of a penny in the pound on lands classified “C,” upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Board’s No. 3 Special Rating Area; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of June and the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

TE RAPA DRAINAGE BOARD.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO RAISE A LOAN.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Te Rapa Drainage District’s No. 3 Special Rating Area was taken on the 9th day of May, 1918, on the proposal of the Te Rapa Drainage Board to borrow the sum of five hundred pounds (£500) for the purpose of improving existing drains and making new ones in the Board’s No. 3 Special Rating Area.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 15, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 4. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

LEONARD AND CLOW.

THE Partnership business heretofore existing between JOHN LEWIS LEONARD and BEILBY HOPE CLOW, of Auckland, Carriers and Contractors, and carried on under the name, style, or firm of “Leonard and Clow,” has been dissolved as from the 28th day of February, 1918, by mutual consent. The business will be carried on by the said BEILBY HOPE CLOW in his own name, and he will be responsible for all debts of the firm, and will collect all debts due to the firm.
